Classified as Punk Pop, Blink 182 are the best of the best of their genre. The trio in this album consists of Tom DeLonge (guitar and vocals), Mark Hoppus (bass and vocals) and Travis Barker (drums). The album itself is the best of all their albums. There are better songs and have a better vibe that come off them. I listened to the album most days for about 3 years when I was younger and still now the songs are easy to listen to. Almost all the tracks have a brilliant lively optimistic and summer feel to them. They are all good to put you in a good mood and the speed is great for that feel good walking mood. It differs from the previous albums as it has a real feeling they grew wiser and were more in control of how to write very catchy and lovably songs. The two main singers have very different voices, DeLonge has a more high pitched almost squeaky voice with a strong American accent. A lot of other bands seemed to have copied his style such as simple Plan. Delonges voice is perfect for his style of writing. The songs all revolve around that young teenage sense of love, fertility and just wanting to have fun messing around. Hoppus' voice is slower and deeper and works perfectly with the slower more meaningful tracks like Stay Together For the kids. The pair alternate singing through-out most of the songs but with DeLonge being the definite front man. The band has a definite younger feel to it and most of their fans are younger around 12-15 but to be honest as far as that pop band culture go they are far better than most anything after and before them. The album is one to reminisce to as the lyrics are simple yet effective. Sometimes they are poetic but to the extent that you know you could write it and as a result you feel as though you can connect more so with the band. The guys obviously just want to have a laugh together and it is seen in their videos of the songs with them dressing up as women, men from the 60's ect. One of the greatest pop punk bands ever to be and ever are. I hear they are back together and would be nice to hear what they have to offer now older and wiser!
Although Blink 182 got a lot of criticism around the time of this album's release for "selling out", it is in many ways the most focused and collected of their entire discography. It has a lot of my favourite tracks on it, including Rock Show, Stay Together for the Kids, and First Date, among others. Following on from Enema of the State, it's a very catchy album with their usual musings on life, love and not wanting to grow up. They're still their juvenile selves, and that seems to be a large part of their selling point - they are now, in 2009, probably closer to forty than thirty, so they're more in a state of arrested development than anything. What I like about Blink, as is thoroughly reinforced here, is that they're unpretentious music that doesn't attest to be deep and is just a bit of simple, childish fun. They simply find more and more crass and crude ways to look at some of the more fringe aspects of the human experience, and thus the fans keep lapping it up, justifiably. The trio are solid as usual, but the standout as usual is Travis Barker, the excellent drummer of the ensemble and the real stamp of quality in the band, who suggests that perhaps they could be capable of something a little more complex every now and then. First Date is a standout track about the funny feeling you get when going on a first date and all the neuroses that go with that. The Rock Show is a more chilled out tune about just goofing off and having fun, and possibly the best track is Stay Together For The Kids, a more sombre and serious look at life where they note the toil and turmoil that kids go through when their parents split up. This isn't rocket science, but it never pretends to be, and I admire them for that.
Whilst I have moved onto pastures new in the form of R'n'B and dance etc since purchasing this album in 2001, I could easily roll back the years at any time and put this CD on, listen to it from start to finish, and love evry second of it! The reason for this is because, in all honesty, Blink 182's Take Off Your Pants & Jacket is on the shortlist for one of my favourite music records of all time. At the time, my love for the band was seemingly unrivalled, I just loved their music; it wasn't too serious, had an exceptionally catchy edge but best of all, was instrumentally and melodically excellent. These traits are displayed throughout the album, with fast-paced guitar bashing softened by moments of slower, melodic genius. Anthem Part 2 kicks the album off and what a way to start! The music is pieced together wonderfully, in true pop-punk fashion, with anarchaic lyrics and flawless vocals. For me, this album has no fillers, bar the occasional 'joke' songs, Happy Holidays You B*****d and F*** a Dog, which exemplify Blink's intermittent immaturity. Such songs show the band is still young at heart but this couldn't be further from how their music has matured. Superb drumming from Travis Barker, Mark's bass solos and the superbly catchy riffs produced by Tom DeLonge amalgamate to form Blink's best work. The album singles, First Date, The Rock Show and Stay Together For The Kids are all killer tracks but in different ways. While the former two are fast-paced, catchy and full of fun, especially regarding the music videos, the third single displays a darker, more serious side to the band, with a song that refers to broken homes across America. The whole album has a great pop-punk feel, but being the best of their genre, and they really were, this is coupled with incredible instrumental talent. There may not be scores of insane guitar solos etc but that's not what this band are about; many people listen(ed) to them superficially, taking the catchy, almost poppy lyrics etc at face value, but to truly appreciate Blink, you need to listen harder and search deeper by guaging their musical ability. Online Songs is a catchy number with a great bass solo and superb vocals, Story of a Lonely Guy is also not to be missed and Give Me One Good Reason is also a quality track. That is not to say the rest aren't also brilliant, because they are. Whether it be for nostalgia or for appreciation for excellent pop-punk, this album is not to be missed!
Blink-182 are a three-piece band from Poway,California who are the current leaders in the pop-punk genre. This is their fourth album. As you can tell from the title "Take Off Your Pants and Jacket" the songs are all written about aspects of teenage life and toilet humour. It makes for some entertaining and funny lyrics, but they can be very annoying at times. The first song"Anthem Part 2",I would recommend to any one who has never heard Blink-182 ands what to find out what they are like because this song pretty much sums them up.Their songs feature funny lyrics in songs like "first Date" and "Happy Holidays"(Not one for the kids, you have been warned!).On the seventh song on the album,"Stay together for the kids" the band show a mellower side in a song about broken homes. This band are hugely popular amongst teenagers for their fast and fun songs. However the main singer Mark Hoppus' voice can get really annoying after listening to this album for a while. But if you are planning to buy this its not brilliant singing and deep, meaningfull lyrics. Its for fun juvenile snaps of pop-punk like "The Rock Show" and "Story of a lonely guy".If you are into this genre of music this album is a must-have but anyone over the age of 21 should probably give it a miss.
Take off your pants and jacket by Blink 182 is another fantastic album released the band. I bought this for £10 from HMV and you can now get it for just £7 on Amazon which is a grat deal. This album is Blink 182 4th album and it was released in June 2001. The album went double platinum which proves how popular this album is. The album contains 13 great tracks including "Rock show", "First date" and "Stay together with the kids". After hearing the new hit single Rock Show on MTV hits I had to get this album because the song really is fantastic and is very upbeat. The album is very similar to the previous album's releaseed by Blink 182 in that it is very Punk Rock in genre and is really exciting and vibrant music. There really is some great tracks in this album that are ideal for playing at a party of likewise. I also liked how some of the songs carried on from the previous album such as "Anthem (part 2)". Genereally the songs are quite short with an average length of about three minutes but they are so quick tempoed it is no supprise. The guitar riffs in this album were as good as ever and the choruses in all of the songs really were fantastic, especially in Rock Show! Overall I really think that this is a great album and I would really recommend it to you, especially if you are a Blink 182 fan wanting more from Enema of the state. The tracks are diverse and very upbeat and are great fun to listen too. I hope this was usefyl and thank you very much for reading this!
Take off your pants and jacket was the fourth album released by the band blink 182, I had liked most of their other albums that they had done however some of the songs had perhaps not been very high in quality, both recording and singing too. However this album was when it changed for the better. The first song is the best off the whole album in my opinion and is just a great track. It starts off with great drumming over a really nice guitar riff. Then it really builds up and when the singing comes in that's just where it takes off and it's a really good songs from there on. Online songs is the second off the album and is another great song. It is really fast paced and a really happy song, the drums and guitar are really fast as well as the singing too which just makes it a great song along with great lyrics and a catchy chorus. First date is also another fantastic song from this album, it was actually one of the first songs I heard off this album as someone played it to me before I went out to buy the album. It has great guitar going all the way through and its one you just want to sing aloud to. The rock show is probably the most popular song off the album for many and is probably the one, if any that people will know. It was quite high in the charts when it was released and got blink 182 known by a lot of people in the UK as they were quite small over here before that. 1. Anthem, Pt. 2 2. Online Songs 3. First Date 4. Happy Holidays, You Bastard 5. Story of a Lonely Guy 6. Rock Show 7. Stay Together for the Kids 8. Roller Coaster 9. Reckless Abandon 10. Everytime I Look for You 11. Give Me One Good Reason 12. Shut Up 13. Please Take Me Home This album is probably blinks best to date, every song on here is just fantastic and it seems they have put so much into this album and it definitely paid off as they made a really great album.
Take off your pants and jacket was blink 182s fifth studio album and would also go on to be their last to contain new material. It was released in 2001 and sold over 350 000 copies in its first week alone. Since then its gone on to sell over 13 million copies world wide. Track listing: 1. Anthem Part Two 2. Online Songs 3. First Date 4. Happy Holidays, You Bastard 5. Story of a Lonely Guy 6. The Rock Show 7. Stay Together for the Kids 8. Roller Coaster 9. Reckless Abandon 10. Everytime I Look for You 11. Give Me One Good Reason 12. Shut Up 13. Please Take Me Home This album really was their best by far and its no wonder it did as well as it did, I think blink 182 finally put their all into this album and the songs on it and they got the best album they could have made. It contains some great tracks, such as anthem part two, first date, story of a lonely guy, and of course probably their most famous song, the rock show. Sure, they may not have the best voices, and the songs might not be perfect, however there was something about blink 182 I loved. They were a band that could do something lame, and yet make it amazing. And to say this album was recorded in just 2 months, its an incredible achievement.
Blink 182: Take Off Your Pants and Jacket Probably the best album they have ever created. Tom Delonge: Vocals and guitar Travis Barker: drums Mark Hoppus: Bass and Vocals Genre: punk rock Take off your pants and jacket is Blink 182s 5th studio album and certainly improved from The Mark, Tom and Travis show. This album was released 2001. Blinks 182 are known for their catchy songs and have sold around 40 million records world wide. The Anthem Part 2: Starting off with a good beat and rhythm. Then in come the lyrics I think that they chose a great tempo for this song its mid it's not slow but not fast either. Online Songs: Starting with a bass line Mark starts to sing and then in comes the drums and guitar again a great tempo in this song. First Date: Singing about a first date with a girl with a great rhythm and beat. They are known for this song and a few others alongside it. Happy holidays, you B*****d: this song is hilarious yes it has a use of bad language so if you have young kids and you don't want them to hear it don't play it around them. Story of a lonely guy: The tempo of this song is slow but has great a great chorus. The Rock Show: This is another song that they are known for. It has a great video if you want to see search 'the rock show blink 182' on youtube. The video is them giving away money and has a fat man dancing on his lawn whilst some hot chicks mow his lawn and clean his van. Stay together for the kids: Great lyrics, great tempo, great rhythm, great beat and an excellent video. Roller Coaster: the lyrics im not so keen on but I do like the beat. Reckless Abandon: its starts off a little muffled but it is supposed to be like that and then it becomes clear. The tempo is fast in this song but it is a good song. Every time I look for you: starting off with the guitar then the drum and bass come in and the lyrics are superb. Give me one good reason: This is another great song with a good bass line definitely a song to nod you head along to. Shut up: Not one of their best but it is still good. Please Take Me home: This song has brilliant lyrics I love to sing along to this song simply because the rhythm is amazing! Time to break up(bonus track): An acoustic guitar is the only instrument used in this song and it is only sung by tom it really shows that he has a great voice. This song does use a bit of bad language but I suppose it fits in the song perfectly. Mothers Day (bonus track): This song is not them singing about what they would do for their mums it's a funny song with a lot of use of bad language. I like it only because it is humorous but I suggest if you don't want your children to listen to it then stay clear from it. This album is parental advisory so any parents out there I suggest you listen to it first if it is young children you have that want this album.
The Blink 182 album 'Take Off Your Pants And Jacket' was released in 2001, it was their fifth studio album and is classified 4x Platinum having sold more than 12 million copies worldwide since release. The album took just 2 months to record and in its first week of release sold in excess of 350 000 copies; more than any of their other five managed. It is their second best selling album and is one that I personally am a massive fan of. As well as having an amusing title this album also comes complete with some brilliant Pop Punk anthems and is therefore one that I have played many a time over the years. With song titles such as 'F**k a Dog', it's clear that Blink 182 don't take things too seriously on this album and as such the 'Take Off Your Pants and Jacket' album is a fun and exciting Pop Punk release. Blink 182 were one of the best bands in their genre and when they embarked upon their 'extended hiatus' in 2005 it was of course sad to hear, but at the same time in their 13 years together they did release a number of excellent albums which we must be grateful for. This album contains massive amounts of brilliant tracks, however there are a significant few that I really see as key to this release. Opening track 'Anthem Part Two' is one such example of these particularly appealing tracks and is one that I can listen to time and time again without ever tiring of. It opens the 'Take Off Your Pants and Jacket' album with such energy and enthusiasm, a brilliant launch pad for the album from which Blink 182 really excel as they make their way through this release. 'First Date', 'The Rock Show', and 'Stay Together For The Kids' were all hit singles from this album and I love each and every single one of them all for different reasons. 'First Date' and 'The Rock Show' are quite similar in that they are both fast and fun Pop Punk songs, however there is a greatly obvious difference between the two. Whilst 'First Date' features Tom DeLonge singing the lead vocals, 'The Rock Show' has Mark Hoppus in this role and therefore the sound produced in both is vastly different. I'm more a fan of the songs that Mark Hoppus sings with Blink 182 tracks, but Tom DeLonge has quite a good voice on him also and does at times pull through with an impressive vocal performance. 'First Date' is most certainly one of those occasions and is in fact one of my favourite Blink 182 tracks in which Tom DeLonge sings. 'Stay Together For The Kids' is a track from this album that I love as it is the only one on this release that takes on a serious approach. With their self-titled follow up album in 2003 they really showed off their serious and sensitive side, but for much of their career Blink 182 focussed purely on being as childish as possible. It is great to hear them putting forward some serious material here and breaks up nicely an album that for the most part anything but serious. 'Happy Holidays, You B*stard' is perhaps my favourite track on this album; it's not big, it's not clever, but it's certainly funny! It lasts for a grand total of 43 second and the lyrics to this track make me smile every time. I shan't be repeating them here, but feel free to look them up and then that will just about sum up the toilet humour of Blink 182 for you. It won't be to everyone's taste, but personally I love a bit of toilet humour and Blink 182 are therefore right up my street. It's not intelligent music but it certainly makes me smile, Blink 182 as a band may be gone but at least their albums are still in existence. I enjoy all of the albums that the band ever released and personally would definitely recommend listening to the 'Take Off Your Pants and Jacket' album. If you're not too keen on toilet humour then they may not amuse you too much, but their fast, fun and furious Pop Punk music should be more than enough to put a smile on your face. Due to the inclusion of two bonus tracks, there are fifteen present on this album and each and every one of them is absolutely brilliant. Never do the band disappoint as they blast their way through this album, Blink 182 are an excellent band and with this album they prove to the world exactly why they were one of the best known Pop Punk bands going. Excellent albums are hard to come by, but Blink 182 released a number of them during their career and 'Take Off Your Pants and Jacket' is without doubt one of them.
What?s the first image that comes to mind when you think of Blink 182? Perhaps it three goofy guys running around ?nude? through the streets of Los Angeles (What?s My Age Again? from the 1999 multi-platinum Enema of the State), maybe the word ?sell out? comes to mind, or perhaps you think of Blink 182 as a more serious band talking about top issues such as divorce (yeah, I didn?t think so?). My personal thought is that the members of Blink 182 have matured somewhat but are still half-baked on this new record. And also, I wouldn?t really call the music on Take Off Your Pants and Jacket punk, but more of pop made especially for the TRL crowd. ? Who?s In Blink 182? ? *Tom DeLonge - Guitar, Vocals *Mark Hoppus - Bass, Vocals *Travis Barker ? Drums Take Off Your Pants and Jacket is Blink 182?s fourth studio album (there was Enema of the State, Dude Ranch, and Cheshire Cat [Buddha wasn?t really an album but a recording of songs that would be released on Cheshire Cat]). After all the success the San Diego-based trio made off the multi-platinum Enema of the State it was about time to see if Blink still had it in them. Are they punk? Nope, I don?t think so? 90% pop, 10% punk. Have they matured? Yes, they talk about divorce, break-ups, and other issues? yet they also talk about their dad sucking them off as well. What?s your overall opinion? Read the rest of my review and you?ll see. ? Track Listing ? 1. Anthem, Pt. 2 2. Online Songs 3. First Date 4. Happy Holidays, You Bastard 5. Story of a Lonely Guy 6. Rock Show 7. Stay Together for the Kids 8. Roller Coaster 9. Reckless Abandon 10. Everytime I Look for You 11. Give Me One Good Reason 12. Shut Up 13. Please Take Me Home Take Off Your Pants and Jacket kicks off right where Enema left off with the second part of the song, Anthem. Anthem Pt. 2 in my opinion is much better than Part 1 ?why? The music and lyrics. The song has a much better beat with some good guitar riffs. The lyrics in Part 2 have a lot more meaning than Part 1. Tom sings about politics and how our society is pretty messed up, yet he talks about he will see things through and will never give up. The chorus has such a catchy beat and the lyrics make me bob my head up and down whenever I hear it. We really need to see things through/We never wanted to be abused/We?ll never give up? There?s really nothing I don?t like about the song (it?s definitely single material). Next comes the song Josie which is sung by Mark talking about how his ex is his source of frustration because she?s a real b-itch/slut going out making with other guys. And now Mark talks about how?s he gonna put everything behind him and move on. The song itself has a very upbeat tempo which matches almost perfectly with the emotion in which Mark is singing. Let?s talk about the singles which Blink has already released and get it over and done with. The Rock Show was the first single released off of Take Off Your Pants and Jacket and it used to be one of my favorite songs, but it gets a little old after hearing it a 1000 times? but I still like the chorus (the best part of the song). I fell in love with the girl at the rock show/ She said ?what? and I told her that I didn?t know? I like the aggression in which the guys sing the chorus, it?s not too aggressive, but add the aggression with the loud guitars and drums blaring in the background and it?s enough to start feeling a little pumped up full of energy. The song talks about? yeah? you guessed it? falling in love with a girl at the rock show. First Date is one of the poppiest if not the poppiest sounding song on the album. Tom is talking about his first date experience? about how he was insecure about a lot of things (his look, kissing, holding hands, etc.). Do you like my stupid hair/ Can you guess that I didn?t know what to where/I?m just scared of what y ou think?. Do I like the song? Yeah, I like it even though it may be a little poppy. Be sure to check out the video for First Date, it?s hilarious. Stay Together for the Kids has to be one of my favorites on the album. Tom sings the verses in the song which speak of the struggles that one goes through when their parents get a divorce while Tom sings the chorus which consists of lyrics of how the parent?s are gonna see the pain they made their kids go through and regret the whole divorce. Stay Together for the Kids is mid-tempo and one of the darker songs on the album? but is definitely one of my favorites because of both lyrics and music. Happy Holidays You Bastard is 42 seconds of nonsense. It?s not really a song, but an attempt to show that they still have those goofy roots they?ve always had. I?ll never talk to you again unless your dad will suck me off/ Ejaculate into a sock?. Also, a lot of the lyrics on Roller Coaster don?t make a lot of sense either. Mark sings about a bunch of dreams he?s had about girls, how the roller coaster is his favorite ride, and how he wants to kiss his girlfriend one last time. It?s like a bunch of pointless lyrics meshed into one song. The music itself isn?t bad, but it?s not the best either. Story of a Lonely Guy deserves an A-. Tom is singing about being depressed over a girl who either won?t go out with him or broke up with him (it?s not really clear in the song) while Mark sings this annoying ?dada? solo that comes before each chorus. However, the chorus is mid-tempo with a good, solid beat and nice lyrics. Reckless Abandon sounds a little ?old-school? if you will? and sounds like a song one of your local garage-punk bands would make. Reckless Abandon is one of the songs on the album that would go great for a party (a teenage party) and talks about being yourself and having good times even though it might shock others. Everytime I Look For You is nothing special nor is it a stand-out track. Mark is singing about how everytime he looks for his girlfriend, the sun goes down. A lot of the lyrics in the song don?t make a whole lot of sense, but the music is alright. There?s one particular guitar riff in the middle of the song that I?m partial to, but that?s about it. Like Reckless Abandon, Give Me One Good Reason talks about being yourself and how there really is no point in trying to be like someone else. So give me one good reason/ Why we need to be like them/ Kids will have fun and offend/ They don't want to and don't fit in. The music is pretty fun and includes some cool guitar shifting sections which provide some nice ear candy. Shut Up is a song sung by Tom talking about running away from home because all his friends have left and his mom is annoying the hell out of him. The song as a whole is nice, but is nothing that really stands out on the album. In contrast to Story of a Lonely Guy, Please Take Me Home talks about the good times he has with his girl and how he?s having the best time he?s ever had. Please Take Me Home is a stand-out track, because of both the lyrics and music, and how they both blend together nicely on this track. The lyrics on this particular song sort of remind me of the lyrics of First Date, but they are a little mroe mature. Ok, I?ve talked about all the tracks on the album that are advertised, but now let?s talk about some of the bonus material. Everyone gets a Bonus Track 14, which is really nothing special? It?s a song where Mark keeps repeating the words ?Hold on, Hold on? over and over, the music isn?t the best they made, and overall doesn?t produce that good of a track. Everyone also gets a Track 15, but the song on Track 15 varies with the edition of the album you bought. Here?s a key to let you know which song is on which album: F-uck a Dog= Pants (I'm referring to the art on the cd) Mother's Day= Airplane The Grandpa Song= Jacket From what I?ve heard, all the se tracks are incredibly disgusting, but I just so happen to get the lovely Grandpa Song. Gross! The song talks about things Grandpa does while doing sex? and let me tell you, it?s a whole lot worse than Happy Holidays, You Bastard. It?s incredibly gross. ? Lyrics (***½) ? There?s really a whole variety of lyrics on Take Off Your Pants and Jacket. Everything from divorce to break-ups to first dates to f-ucking Grandpa is discussed on the album. Some of the lyrics on the album actually do have some meaning (Stay Together for the Kids) while others have absolutely no purpose at all (Roller Coaster, F-ucking Grandpa). Another flaw in the album is that I see Blink using a lot of the same lyrics/messages in songs which can get pretty repetitive and old. But overall, it?s not too bad. ? Style/Music(****) ? I don?t care if they are maybe shifting from the world of punk over to the land of pop, I still like it. I don?t think they?ll ever become a ?boy band? or anything like that for a few reasons (a) they?re too old (b) do you know a lot of boy bands that play the guitars and drums? I didn?t think so. It?s not like you can?t tell they are Blink 182, it?s still very evident in this album that they still are those nutty guys? how can you tell? Cuz? of their style. Blink 182 has a rep of being a pop/punk band with middle school humor. Is that here on this album? You bet. So, overall, I still think Blink is cool and will remain Blink no matter what type of music they play. The music on Take Off Your Pants and Jacket is pretty cool. Loads of awesome guitar riffs and drum beats flood the album. I think I like Tom?s voice better than Mark?s, mainly because I think it fits with the lyrics and creates better emotion and I also like how his voice is so unique. I think Travis should get a lot of more credit than he does? Be barely gets any credit when he?s banging on those drums for hours and only Tom and Mark get all the credit. Shame , shame? ? Final Thoughts ? Overall, Take Off Your Pants and Jacket deserves 4 stars. I have mixed thoughts on the lyrics, but the music and style Blink provides is pretty darn good even if it isn?t the same as it was when Blink first started. I?d recommend this album to kids ages 13 and up mainly because of the explicit lyrics on the album (a lot of F words). And to be honest with you, I really do not think this album would appeal at all to older adults? But hey if you?re my age, it?s the cool thing. So go out to your local record store and pick up a copy of Take Off Your Pants and Jacket. Thanks for reading.
Blink 182 ? Take off Your Pants and Jacket Blink 182 in Brief Blink 182 consists of Tom Delonge on the electric guitar, Mark Hoppus on the bass guitar and Travis Barker on the drums. Travis wasn?t always in the band but Tom and Mark have been in Blink since high school. Travis was in a band called the aquabats when he was asked to play drums for Blink filling the absence of the original drummer Scott Rayner. The reason I am referring to the band as Blink is not for sake of typing 182 but they were originally called ?Blink?. That was until an Irish techno threatened to sue them over copyright laws. So they added a 182 to their name, this has confused people for years and Blink 182s explanation of 182 was ?it means nothing?. Blinks 182 were all born in California and still live there, in fact the best place for punk music in the world is California. Albums Including Take off you Pants and Jacket I don?t know the dates that the other albums came out by heart but I will tell you their album previous to their new one. Take off your pants and jacket will be refereed to as TOYPAJ for short. The first record they brought out was named Flyswatter and is about as well known as G.W Bush?s mum?s grandmother?s maiden name. Its is only just an album really and is very rare with only 500 copy?s out in the world. The next album released was Buddha featuring newly recorded songs from Flyswatter. Next up came the album Dude Ranch and must have got to say its my all-time favorite Blink 182 album featuring the single Dammit, I guess what that?s my favorite Blink 182 son ever. To go on quickly the next album and properly the most well known of all the blink albums thanks to the success of ?All the Small Things and ? What?s my age again?? The album has been heard all over the globe and released in lots of countries, and tracks from the album used on different films such as American Pie?s use of the song ?Mutt?. Finally the newly released album TOYPAJ which. I will now describe. Take off your Pants and Jacket I think that the new album is a prime example of blink 182s ability to write and produce songs. The album is not actually the best in the world but I feel that at the time it came it helped me tremendously, and that is worth a lot. The album released the singles Rock Show, First Date and Stay Together for the Kids, one of which I actually like. The record is in a typical Blink style full of fast paced college songs about girls and?. girls. There are 3 different TOYPAJ versions with different images on the CD cover itself. There are also different extra songs on the CD. Track Listing Anthem part two This is quite a good song in my opinion with 2 electric guitars at the beginning and end of song. The song is about youth today or at least their take on youth, it?s supposed to be the anthem for teenagers. Online Songs This is fast paced on the chorus and also a good song, using the name Josie as a name for the girl in the song is not uncommon as the song Josie was about the perfect girl. First Date Blink 2nd single on the album and catchy in a Top of the Pops way In the video for the song the members of Blink are seen wearing mullets and sporting moustaches. The song is about the first date with a girls and the nervousness experienced. Happy holidays you B**tard One of the novelty pointless songs on the album, I have nothing more to say. Story of a Lonely Guy I think the song is brilliant and I would have bought the song on single if released but it wasn?t. The song is slow and well put together with lyrics to match the brilliance of the tune itself. The Rock Show Yet again another single, in fact the first released that I wasn?t to impressed with. It wasn?t the fact that the song was all over cheese ridden music channels such as The Box, I really just thought the song was way down on their standards. Stay Together for the Kids Finally a single I like, and I mean really like. Its amazing and almost a minute had passed after hearing it did I think that I need to get the guitar tab off the net. The tune is so well done and fitting to the song it creates the atmosphere the song deserves. Roller Coaster This song screams to me that it?s an album finisher, you know the kind of track they knock together in a couple of minutes to fill the album up. Then again I suppose some people will like it. Reckless Abandon This seems to be lyrically typical of Blink and therefore quite good but it also has a make in 5 minutes sound to it. Travis shows his drumming off to amazing standards more than ever in this song and boy is he good at it. Every time I look for you. This track is really excellent and shows just how good Blink 182 can be. If I were a woman I would be crying to this song and I am not scared to admit it. You have to hear the song to understand it and at the time I first heard it helped. Give me one good reason This song seems to try and be a protest against the wishes of parents and Blink couldn?t pull a protest song off if they tried. It?s quite catchy all the same and some might say its quite good. Shut up Also relating well to me at the time the song is very good to me because of a kind of sentimental reason. The track talks about wanting to move away and getting annoyed. Please take me home Being if not the best song on the album this song really hits home and Blink 182 will always standout in my mind as a band that makes songs to reflect truly how I can feel. There are different Bonus songs on each album so I have only included the ones that are on all albums. Thank you for your time.
Well, you can safely say blink 182 have struck again with this fantastic come back to the enormous Enema of the State released in 1999. This band have come a long way since the Flyswatter EP and this album is a roundup of how they have improved. A brilliant record label, MCA (a little better than recording in the old drummer’s bedroom), singing about more serious thing like politics at times and how life can sometimes not be fair, but still have their good old blink 182 comedy from the good old days (f**k a dog and happy holidays). The singles released so far are the Rock show, First Date and the more serious Stay Together for the kids. In the Rock Show video, the band have a riot while spending money: it is hilarious watching as they smash a TV, drop a car from a height randomly pay people money on the streets and generally have fun. The First Date video is also funny because the band go back in time to the ‘60’s and drive around in a hippy van and have comical costumes and hair from thoses times. The stay together for the kids video had to be re-done as images in it looked similar to the September 11th tragedy, but both versions can be seen on the second blink 182 DVD, the urethra chronicles 2. Check them both out: They are worth the money, including all the videos and interviews and also live footage. Other songs on this album are brilliant aswell: Anthem part 2, continuing from Enema’s Anthem, is discussing kids rights and how the world is messed up. Online song is about a girl in a chatroom online, dating boys. Happy holidays, you b****d is a hilarious, random, short song, with funny lyrics and no real reason that i can see. Its great! Number 5, story of a lonely guy, is another slow song, about, well, the story of a lonely guy! It is cool as it is emotional and gives a good effect to the cd eith some rad guitar riffs. Rollercoaster is one of my favourites: it is fast but has slow parts and cool lyrics. Reckless abandom is a bout a boy leaving a girl: It is speedy but with a slow start. Everytime I look for you is about someone saying that the sun goes down everytime he looks for a girl, so he can't find her. Shut up is really good too. It's about a girl telling a boy he is always too loud and never listens. There are also some really great bonus tracks if you can find the special edition cd which has a rather cool case too. take off your pants and jacket include songs we love the funny and rude one's included. this album will seem even ruder and funnier to people when they find out what the title actually means, if they dont already know. yeah it means to take off your pants, but jacket is what you do not what you wear. it wouldnt sound quite the same if someone called it 'take off your pants and wank' would it. this cd is one of the best i have ever heard (its my joint fave with all blink182 cd's) it has the very cool single rock show and the funny first date, not 2 forget the mood changing stay together for the kids. it has 3 hidden tracks which are different depending on the version you buy. this cd kicks ass. it blink182 after all so u no u'll luv it. even if u just buy it 2 piss off ur parents u should buy it. u no u shud. u no u want 2. u wont regret it.
let me get this clear. i hate opinions. they're a good read but a waste of time. let me point out to you that i am not hear to write an opinion but to really write about why toypag is blink's best album. blink 182 are the best rock band out there today. yes i'm getting criticism already but trust me. them and weezer....and green day and the strokes. these bands are the leaders of rock out there today. i have been a fan of blink since enema came out. i have all their albums and i bought a ticket to their recently postponed january concert. last year on the first day of release two hours after shipment i bought this album and i heard it in its full glory. it is blink's most concise and punkest album but whether it is their best is another question. anthem part two is a fantastic start to the album. it gives you a taste of what to come- blink's hardest material. "everything has fallen to pieces- earth is dying- help - me jesus". those lines would not have occurred on any previous blink album. something has happened. shock horror blink has become more mature. to some this track, started off by an introductory riff similar to the original blink classic carousel, might be just a little tongue in cheek. some might not take delonge's strained vocals seriously. some people might think blink 182 have sold out. those people are idiots. just because a band has sold multiple platinum records around the world it does't mean they've sold out. blink have been around for ten years. they have worked eight years to achieve their fame. cheshire cat and dude ranch are days long but gone. now we're in the enema and take off days. don't expect them to do punk again because they won't- they do pop punk. if you want to see sell outs check out sum 41 and nfg. they both have released an average of two albums and fame. this is blink's sixth album and they deserve it selling records. anyway back to anthem part two. well , its just a good track. what do you say- explain the full track to you? no! i don't want to ruin the album for you- there's only so many words you can use to describe an album. online songs is a stunner. to me, mark hoppus is the strongest member in the band. he has charisma, vocals and plays bass like hell. he also makes jokes about goats. anyway his vocals blast down accompanied only by a bassline and then a suitably kitch alternative rock tune kicks in. the tune is a bit weak- up to the chorus. the chorus is as hardcore as you can get. some people may think its pop but just listen to the guitars. blink have never played anything harder. first date sounds like a tribute to garage punk bands and all the better for it. it sounds suitably retro with its forever and ever chorus being the catchiest thing since all the small things. it is the new all the small things and just watch the video- pure laughter compressed into two minutes. happy holidays you (i won't say it for fear of being knocked out by dooyoo) is an all out riff fest. its rude crude and unbelievably hardcore. it is funny catchy and less than one minute long. its just unbelievably amazing. story of a lonely guy sound akin to rich lips but is a bit better produced. it is a good song and its da da bridge is sheer sweetness. however it doesn't match up to the bleak adams song which is one of blinks finest moments. the rock show well what can i say. forget green days basket case or weezers surf wax america- this is the ultimate love teenage angst song with a don't give a (won't say it) attitude. its enjoyable but emotionally inept as hoppus' vocals just sound plain monotonous. a lot has been said about following track stay together for the kids. yes it is a good song but comes nowhere near what blink has done before. those people who say its blink's finest moment aren't true fans. it has a great video and great tune b ut its chorus seems a little too nu metalish for me. its good but for track seven blink go to adams song. roller coaster is something blink have neevre done before- psychedelia with doo wop vocals. the result is amazingly. its well produced and well cooked. hoppus sounds charismatic- the charisma that lacked from the rock show. its a fun song that takes you on a ride. reckless abandon is a good but overrated track. forget it. everytime i look for you was used on the american pue two soundtrack. blink's mutt was used on the american pie soundtrack. i was expecting huge similarities but they're two different tracks. mutt had whining vocals skin to billie joe on nimrod. this however sounds more like wendy clear and is way better. give me one good reason is a blink song about teenagers. it has clever lyrics and a great tune with a fresh chorus. this would have made a better first single than the rock show. shut up is pure family breaking up. it is ten times better than stay together and i even feel that for the kids should be omitted and this should be put in its place. oh well i guess that jerry finn made a mistake on this one. please take me home is fantastic. it shows us what delonge planned to do with side project box car racer. just listen to it. ignore the bonus tracks. so in short this is a really goo album. not the best album ever made. not up their with pinkerton or enema of the state or maladroit or cheshire cat but it is bloody good. i prefer this album to dude ranch.
