America Eats Its Young - Funkadelic
by XICripZ - written on 09/08/09 (Very useful, 38 readings)
Rating:
"America Eats Its Young" came out in 1972 as the fourth album from the Psychedelic Rock/Soul and Funk band Funkadelic . It sees that this time around you find the first appearance from the bassist Bootsy Collins, who comes to join the likes of Tiki Fulwood (on drums), Ed Hazel (on guitar) and lead vocals from George Clinton (amongst many others who make up the then ever-changing line-up, who also went as Parliament too. 1. "You Hit The Nail On The Head" Getting things going here, you see that off the hype of a killer album ("Maggot Brain") they choose to liven the listeners up with some pure Funk material, in which you find that they get ...

Funkadelic - Funkadelic
by XICripZ - written on 29/03/09 (Very useful, 102 readings)
Rating:
The self-entitled debut from Funkadelic in 1970. The Funk group were originaly backing members to George Clinton s band, The Parliaments (Not to be confused with Parliament, who were the other band to split off from this original group). The group were one of the top ones in the genre at the time, and although for this one, they did less of the Funk as we know it, and more Pyschedelic Soul and Rock. Nonetheless, it has been samples numerous times in the Hip Hop world for its originality and pureness. As well as Clinton, other names you may recognise are Fuzzy Haskins, Billy Bass Nelson and Eddie Hazel. 1. "Mommy, What s A Funkadelic?" This oen semed to go on ...

Products similar to Tales Of Kidd Funkadelic - Fun...
Swords And Diamonds - Cryonic Temple
Perfect imitation heavy metal.
No ideas of its own.
Synthetic Division - Crossbreed
Balanced fusion of industrial and rock elements.
All been heard before.
Take No Prisoners - Chinchilla
Greater band performance.
Still falls in the face of competition.
Take Offs And Landings - Rilo Kiley
Jenny Lewis, the indie-sounds of a band learning the ropes of music
Meandering feel, no real 'kick' songs
Telemission - Durango Riot
The music is extremely energetic and fun.
The best I feel is yet to come.
The 1st Chapter - Circus Maximus
Talented progressive metal by-the-numbers.
Heard it all before.
The Alternative - IAMX
There are a couple of remotely interesting moments.
Most of the album is despicably dull.
The Beauty Of Contrast - Sinew
The album is packed full of atmosphere, the music is action packed from start to finish.
Some of the tracks are quite long, this could put some people off listening.
The Beyond - Cult Of Luna
Goth - 2003
Terra - Cronian
Side helping for fans of modern Borknagar, with good vocals and guitar.
Less impressive than the primary band.
