Talkshow are one of the hottest new bands around. They are based in South Wales and their first single 'Stand back I'm armed' was released on 6th November. The cd includes 3 tracks:-
"Stand back I'm armed" - the title track, has all the ingredients of a classic rock anthem, with a driving bass and clever lyrics which allows the star quality of vocalist Damian Scott Owens to shine through. It certainly gives a new twist to the classic lyrics (sha la la la la). The video was recently shown on HTV's 'Shotgun Slideshow' and the single has been played on Radio 1 and Radio Wales.
Track 2 "Fear of being caught" - which was used on a trailer for HTV's drama 'Nuts and Bolts'
Track 3 "Demon Heels" - one of my favourites, its the sort of song that you hear a couple of times and end up singing for days.

Each track is a shining example of great rock in a style that is hard to pin down, but done in Talkshow’s own inimitable, individual, charismatic style. All the tracks were written by the band with the lyrics being penned by vocalist Damian Scott Owens. They write all their own songs and in an industry where most bands are manufactured and carbon copies of each other, they stand out a mile. This will be the first single of many.

Talkshow are - Damien Scott Owens - vocals, Stuart Anstee - Guitar, Elvis - Bass, Geraint Evans - Drums.

They recently played at Dempseys, Cardiff as part of the Radio 1 fringe festival, and are regularly played on Radio 1's the Welsh evening session.

They are a fantastic live act and their stage presence puts some of the 'big name' bands to shame. The South Wales Echo has given them rave reviews and it has been noted that it is only a matter of time before one of the larger labels snap them up.
At a recent gig at Blackwood Miner's Institute, James Dean Bradfield of the Manic Street Preachers was spo
tted in the audience. That man has good taste!

If you get the opportunity to see Talksow live, grab it with both hands, you will not be disappointed. On the 12th December 2000 they became the first band to play in the Tate Modern Gallery in London.

Following a successful gig in the Bull and Gate, Camden in March, they have been invited to Headline at Barfly@onefourfour, Camden on 10th May and in Cardiff's Barfly four days later. They are promoting their new single Gas Mark 9 which was played on Radio 1 tonight (3rd May).

I haven't heard of these guys yet. Catatonia rock and International Velvet is one of their best, I do like Way Beyond Blue though :)
