Advantages: Great Instrumentalists, Cheap to buy

Disadvantages: Not as long as some modern albums

...Emerson, Lake and Palmer to bring you yet another quality album. Based around the song Tarkus (20 mins long!!) it is one of the top 3 ELP albums, others being ELP and Brain Salad Surgery. I bought the album on CD when I was 11, due to my fathers influence. I only really have ever listened to the 1st track but in my years of listening to it have also listened to Jeremy Bender partly due to its interesting title. The lyrics in Tarkus are meaningful and very well written and compliment the instruments excellently. Many people do not have the patience to play out a 20 min song but trust me if ever someone gives you a chance to hear it take it!
It is, for anyone who is used to ELP, typical of them to produce such quality with each on the members displaying their qualities to maximum effect. There is of course lengthy keyboard solo's for which Keith Emerson is famous for, Greg Lake provides excellent vocals and also some superb fretwork on the guitar and last but certainly not least Carl Palmer displays speed and precision on the drum kit and percussion instruments.
To recommend this to someone for me is an understatement, as an avid ELP fan this will always have a place in my heart. It may not suit our younger generation who are more into dance and rap but to anyone who is interested in pure musical genius or has lived around the ELP era then a listen to this is a must.
