Advantages: Great tunes, Kelis, No album fillers
Disadvantages: None
I have been listening to Kelis for a while now, first noticing her with her Kaleidescope album. Caught out There (I hate you so much right now) was a brilliant tune. Others such as Good Stuff and her collabroration with ODB with the song Got Your Money, were also brilliant. I think that Tasty is the 3rd album to come from this talented music star. The first song on the album which was released was Milkshake. This was the song that made me buy this album. Milkshake was a very popular song, and even though I liked it for a while, now it is one of my least favourite tracks of the album.
My first impression of this album was not good - and Milkshake seemed to be the only song that I actually liked. However, if you keep listening to it in the background - maybe while working, or in the car, then it soon starts to grow on you, and I ended up loving it. Definately one of the best albums I bought last year.
The album starts off with an intro. This is basically what the whole album is all about. I don't want to give it away, I think that you have to listen to this album yourself from start to finish.
Trick Me - comes second, with a beat that makes you want to jump up and dance. This was the second release from the album. One of my favourites of the album. It leads on from the intro, as does the rest of the album.
Milkshake is third - what more do I have to say? It was played many times on radio, in clubs, bars etc etc. This was a good track and a good comeback for Kelis, who seemed to have disappeared from the face of the earth for a couple of years. This song is so catchy, I think I liked it from the first time I heard it.
Keep It Down - is a very distinctive and brilliant track. I think that this track was also released. I love the way that this song just goes so well - it has breaks in it, but works very well.
In Public - is next, and features her husband, NAS. This is also a very distinctive tune, great beat again, great lyrics. A bit slower than the others.
Flashback - One of my least favourites of the album, but still great, and no way near an album filler. It is also quite distinctive, Kelis' voice works very well with this song, it sounds brilliant. Lyrics not great though.
Protect my Heart - one of my personal favourites. Great sounding track.
Millionaire - featuring Andre 3000 from Outkast. This song was also a single release, but is one of my least favourites. There is something too Outkasty about it! I am personally not a huge fan of Outkast, though I do enjoy some of their work. Quite catchy, but quite repetitive.
Glow - featuring Raphael Saadiq. A slow song, but sounds great. Again, Kelis' voice is amazing on this track. Brilliant tune.
Sugar Honey Iced Tea - again, not one of my favourites on the album, but still good to listen though. Sometimes can become quite boring.
Attention - again featuring Raphael Saadiq. This is a good song, distinctive, beats are brilliant. Quite slow moving though.
Rolling through the Hood - One of the most boring lyrics, but the beat manages to save it slightly. Still a good track to listen to.
Stick Up - very distinctive, brilliant, one of my favourites. Nice to listen to, quite slow moving. Great music.
And finally we come to the end of the album, with Marathon - Very very disctinctive bassline, otherwise quite a boring track. Kelis is also great here.
After marathon, the album also 'ends' with a conclusion to the intro. One of my best buys last years, have listened to it so many times, and still am not getting bored of it. If your first impression of this album is not good, then give it a chance. I did, and I love it.

- 31/01/05 I liked her when she was all crazy and shouty myself. And milkshake I found rather annoying.
