Tear Gas are a hard rock band from the early 70s from Scotland, they were a Scottish supergroup made up of bands doing well in Scotland at the time, their transformation from good musicians from 60s bands with neat hair to bearded hippies playing heavy music and famed for sticking their arses out of car windows is quite remarkable and the band came to an end fairly quickly too, this being their only release other than the shorter 'Piggy Go Getter'
Zal Cleminson on guitar is the man of the moment because the guitar playing is the catchiest part of the band's music, there's an awesome solo on "Woman For Sale" and it's definitely the kind of music that needs to be played loud and will have you playing air guitar.
Personally I'm not a big fan of the vocals, they are a bit dreary and sound like a bored Eric Clapton, it's a shame because some of the lyrics could have definitely got the band a hit but they were never really sung with the conviction they deserved.
There's less organ playing and less funkiness than on the band's first album, it's good guitar driven hard rock but unfortunately it's not particularly memorable, I struggle to put a finger on what exactly is wrong but I find them just a little bit predictable and struggle to recall a lot of the lyrics.
