Ayreon albums have always possessed a nice mix of styles from loud, heavy and bombastic ten minute epics to short and simple ballads, and predictably it's always been the latter variety that Arjen Lucassen has attempted to shift as singles in their own right, to draw in his prog crowds rather than the existing metal fans. This is a bit of an odd tendency, especially as singles such as this in particular don't really give an accurate idea of Ayreon in general, predominantly featuring songs that are the exception rather than the norm.
