Flemming Rönsdorf's vocals frequently reach for the screech, while Michael Stützer's lead guitar melodies and solos are all aimed at creating a harmonic and pleasant layer above the raw thrashing riffs that pummel relentlessly throughout these songs. While few of these songs stand out in a significant way above the general level of skill, it's the frequent mood and speed shifts, along with the chaotic structure that allows for a surprise guitar solo or even more surprising bass solo every once in a while, that...more

Premium Review Terror Squad - Artillery: The Happiness Patrol (264 words)

Rating:

As Denmark's finest tech-thrash band (well, I'm only guessing, but it seems likely), Artillery's style was a little more technically proficient than many of their contemporaries, though not the extent of showing off virtuosity just for the sake of it. In fact, there's very little on 'Terror Squad' to elevate it above the level of a basic American thrash band of high quality, speed and most importantly melody, a quantity that the band flouts with pride. An elegant and sonically impressive fantasy effort from Horner Lengthy tracks combined with a lot of mood music may not appeal to all

Nu Metal - 2004

Intriguing enough for die-hard fans, stretching the band's progressive tendencies to breaking point. A few really, really naff songs.

Loadsa great rockin tunes, not too heavy. 20 tracks in all. coupla bad tracks (or at least not to my taste)

"Aftermath" and "Leaving New York" are among R.E.M.'s very best; lots of good songs; lyrics included Inconsistent, "Worst Joke Ever" is very poor

Pleasant songs from each of Angra's albums thus far. 'Lisbon' isn't one of their better offerings.

Little Dreamer - Beth Rowley
Pop - 2008

Live - Blind Guardian
Great performance spanning the band's entire career, with all the live favourites. Crowd noise could do with an edit, and material from the most recent album is weaker.

Live - Swing Out Sister
Jazz - Acid Jazz

Lies - Arcana Obscura
Soothing atmospheric "dark" electro with great vocals. Dull and repetitive, with obvious contrast between the club hits and ambience.

Light Of The Stable - Emmylou Harris

Lights Out - Sugarcult
Some excellent tracks of Pop Punk are contained within this album. There are a number of disappointing tracks here present.

Lessons To Be Learned - Gabriella Cilmi
Pop Rock - 2008

Let's Groove: The Best Of Earth, Wind & Fire - Earth Wind & Fire
Some great tracks Not many
