Calvin Broadus AKA Snoop Dogg recognized by many of us by his whacky hair do’s and constantly smoking weed has really struck gold with this album.

Snoop had a lot to prove with the release of this album. His first album “doggystyle” which was the first album to go to number one as a debut album, it stayed there for a few months. It spent almost a year in the charts and really kicked off Snoop’s career. His following albums weren’t as successful as doggystyle but were still great albums and sold millions. Snoop had a long wait then before releasing this album. With Dr Dre producing the album and writing many of the tunes there isn’t much Snoop can do wrong. Snoop also has a really mellow voice and I think that is what attracts some people to his music.

Following a great tour last summer and with countless numbers of advertisement the album “Tha Last Meal” was released and yes it did go to number one in America. The album has a cartoon cover and really shows what Snoop is like. Snoop is known by most of the Westside rappers as a bit of a joker and this really shows from the cover of the album.

The album itself is totally superb, it has a number of songs which definitely compete with some of Snoop’s older songs like “what’s my name” and “Gz and hustlas.” The album starts with yet another intro which has Snoop introducing the album and who he is sending it out to. The album then has some super tunes following this intro such as, “Hennesey N Buddah” and “what’s my name (part 2)” Snoop Doggs lyrics I think just put other rappers to shame they are so slick e.g.
“Aww naw (who is it?)
It's motherfu*kin' Snoop Dogg
I live the fast life, where ya keep ya cash tight
In broad daylight, walkin' wit ya flashlight.”
Its lyrics like this, which makes Snoop Doggs so good. Other great songs on the album
include, well they are all really great but a few I will pick out must be, “Set It Off”, “Lay Low” and “Ready 2 Ryde.” These songs have great background beats, which I could listen to all night.

As you can expect with any album produced by Dre there are also many other rappers who appear on this great album. Kokane appears in a few of the songs, I think kokane has a really good voice and has been introduced at the correct songs, all your obvious rappers appear, Nate Dogg, MC Ren, Ice Cube and Master P. Dre doesn’t really do anything really which surprised me a lot. The inclusion of these rappers proves Snoop is well loved in LA and may also add to the sales of the album. The eastsidaz appear in a few songs along with Goldie-loc and Mr Magic, there are also a few other rappers who appear but I don’t want to give everything away.

There are 19 songs on the album and I think everyone of the songs is really cool and think this album certainly rates against “doggystyle”. Dr Dre is really becoming one of the biggest producers around and has produced another fantastic album, which must be bought by all Dre and Snoop fans. I would definitely recommend it to a friend and give the album 95%
