Advantages: SLOWER SONGS
Disadvantages: AGGRESSIVE TRACKS
THANK YOU is the title of British pop star JAMELIA's album.
The album contains 14 tracks.
The opening song SUPERSTAR is a great dance track with real attitude. It's quick paced with a sexy chorus and sensual lyrics that will get you on the dance floor.
THANK YOU is a gentle song with mellow lyrics that have a personal meaning. Jamelia's vocals are beautiful and express deep emotion at the chorus.
DJ is a fast paced track with a funky rhythm that gains pace at the chorus and great instrumental support providing a feel good factor at the finale.
SEE IT IN A BOY'S EYES features lyrics that tell a good story and have a fun element which you can hear in her voice and the melodies are oozing smoothness.
TAXI starts of slow with a weak intro and gets better at teh chorus which is catchy due to the terrific instrumental aid.
DIRTY DIRTY i wasn't so keen on as it was too aggressive and the lyrics were wayward and without any purpose.
CLUB HOPPIN' features a rap by BUBBA SPARXXX which adds nothing to the song and relies on Jamelia's soulful vocals to add energy to the song which it needed.
CUTIE features cheesy lyrics which this time can't be saved by the vocals as they are quite weak.
My favourite song on the album is BOUNCE. This track has great energy supported by wonderful vocals and instrumental support and some sound melodies that flow alongside the rhythm.
BOUT features vocals from RAH DIGGA that are enthusiastic, but sound awful. This song is weak and th chorus lacklustre.
OFF DA ENDZ is a terrible song with vocals from ASHER D that try to be cool, but aren't. The sound is too gangster and doesn't suit Jamelia's vocals one bit.
B.I.T.C.H once more tries to be too aggressive and this doesn't work for Jamelia. The chorus is hoddy while the finale is terrible.
LIFE is a mellow track where her vocals are allowed to grow into the chorus while the instrumental support breathes new life into the song at the chorus.
The last track on the album is ANTIDOTE that highlights her vocal talents which are on fine form as well as the instrumental work and decent lyrics with better melodies.
Overall this is an okay album. The slower ballads are Jamelia's strngth as it allows her vocals to blossom. However the aggressive tracks just don't work and the lyrics are shocking. The melodies and rhythms are good for dancing to and the energy is their in abundance.
Avaliable from AMAZON at under a pound this is an okay album.
