What I really like about this album is the fact that it not only proves Elvis ... more ... could deliver his own tracks well but that he could also take previously released tracks and not only sing them but better them also.
Disc two in this collection is worth paying the moeny for all on its own and the way Elvis delivers tracks like Sweet Caroline and Bridge over troubled waters proves to everyone as if proof were needed that he truly is the king of rock and roll.

That's The Way It Is (Special Edition) is a 3 disc set that is packed full of previously unreleased tracks. It features the original version of the thats the way it is album as well as another two discs that have some great Elvis tracks that relate to the 1970 documentary film by denis sanders, also entitled "thats the way it is". This album features Elvis at his very best vocally as he powers through many of his own very well known tracks as well as giving his own touch to some great classics by other recording artists. This is a 3 disc set featuring the original Elvis Presley album THAT'S THE WAY IT IS in addition to 2 discs filled with previously unreleased tracks. This disc relates to the 1970 documentary film directed by Denis Sanders, which was released in 2001 in a 'special edition'. The songs featured on this set are excellent, and my favourite disc is disc 2 which features a complete live show from 1970. This is the period when Elvis was at the peak of his powers, belting out classics from his own back catalogue and also cover versions of songs by other performers.
