Mel and Kim were a breath of fresh pop air in the late eighties. Under the watchful eye of Stock, Aitken and Waterman they slowly conquered the UK. The two sisters lit up the charts with their own unique brand of bright pop music. This is their best of album and serves as a reminder of the talents of Kim and the late Mel Appleby. 'Respectable' was a finely crafted piece of disco pop which managed to fuse elements of pop, r and b, soul and high nrg disco all into one. The sassy lyrics added further bite and it was for many their best single. 'Showing Out' is a great weekend anthem which conjures up images of getting all tarted up for a big night out. ...
