My favourite Elvis song from the early days is MYSTERY TRAIN (in fact Elvis first producer, Sam Phillips, who discovered The King, has said that that song was the best thing he ever did with Elvis and I personally am inclined to agree). This 3CD set was the first Elvis CD set I ever bought but it of course has not been the last. It features a great selection of songs from all aspects of Elvis' career, right from the start in the mid 1950s up to the end, when Elvis sadly passed away in 1977. There are no stand-out tracks on this set, they are all great. BMG did a sterling job with their track selection here for although Elvis did record a lot of dross for the movies in the mid-1960s, there is not one single song here that isn't of high-quality.
