Advantages: great vocal talent, excellent lyrics, excellent guitar skills

Disadvantages: there are none!

This is probably, on and off, my favourite CD ever. I can listen to this anytime place or mood I'm in. But it's the same with Radiohead's equally excellent 'OK Computer' CD and I'm always with myself over which i like the best.

But then again....who cares?! Credit to Radiohead for producing two top class albums (not forgettin pablo Honey or their newer stuff)

If you are in anyway interested in Raidohead, or their genre of music (whatever you define that to be), you should not think twice before buying this. Just go for it. You won't regret it.

*WhY?*

Well, there aren't any fillers here. Everything is worth a mention cos it's all marvellous, in my op.

Just like the earlier Pablo Honey cd, this has a great mixture of loud jump around tracks and calmer heart rending stuff.

The album starts with an excellent rock song with drunken sounding vocals - planet telex, and then there's the title track, The Bends, which, I think is my favourite Radiohead rock song.

Then you have 'High And Dry',which for some reason I used to think was almost kind of dull. But nO! I'm loving it now! It's about someone with a motor bike who break mirrors, reaches too far and can't make love anymore.

Then you've got another more subtle song (at least at the beginning) : Fake PLastuc TRees, the ultimate have a cry track. I love the way it builds up a crackin climax in the middle, then it all lulls again. This is a magnificent song.

After this: the rockier 'Bones' (check Thom going for the low and high bits), then I think it's 'Nice Dream'....which is nice...until all the calm and serenity is unsettled by the middle bit, before levelling out again. Cool

Following that you've got two rock songs - JUst (which is just excellent) and Iron lung, which may start with a boring verse, but check the chorus! Give it time and
you'll love it!

'Bullet Proof' is beautiful. It doesn't need much more said than that.

black star, yeh, this is a good track with guitars fading in and bits about trains.

Then 'Sulk', my least favorite I'm not totally sure why, but you might like it best.

STREET SPIRIT. yEH! I love this track a lot. I did actually hear when it was first a single and I saw the video. But I about 9 or ten then and didn't take in the name of the band. I knew I had really liked it but never discoverd who it was by. Until...I bought this album! Yeahhhhh! Got to track 12 and keeled over (well not really) I was amazed to come across it, and I suppose that track was what made me get into indie/rock stuff when all my friends got into Westlife and all that. And now I've found it! Yeyyy.

But what is it like? Sour I suppose. Catchy guitar riff, building drums/stringy bit and wailing chorus. It's excellent

So DO buy this album. It's all excellent pie plates. It stands up to the praise.
