Advantages: Street Spirit, Just, No Bad Tracks!!!

The thing I liked most about The Bends was that there was not a single bad track on it. Usually this is a good sign.

They would have to be THE British Bands of the 90s for me - 5 albums, 2 of which were voted #1 and #2 in a recent 'Best Albums In The World Poll' in America. Those were THe Bends #1 and O.K. Computer #2 if you were wondering.

THe thing about Radiohead is they are too good - songs like Creep (Pablo Honey), Street Spirit (The Bends), Karma Police (OK Computer and Just (The Bends) to name a very small few.

The Bends has been hailed as the best Radiohead album - myself, I support this view, though OK Computer is in a very close second place.

I could make a list of great Radiohead songs taken from the album itself - The Bends, Fake Plastic Trees, High And Dry, Just, My Iron Lung, Black Star, Street Spirit - and the other 4 or 5 tracks I didnt mention. Ill just give a quick review of my favourite songs.

My favourite song on this album would have to be Street Spirit (Fade Out). THat tune for the song, its very sober and Thoms vocals over the top complete it. I love the way the song builds up in tempo and volume to end result. One of THE Radiohead songs of all time.

Just is also a great song, and the vid is also great. Quite a fast song, alot different to Street Spirit, more like Creep. I like the way the song starts with the acoustic tune and then the electic guitar kiks in and the song gets going.

Black Star is another one of my favourites. On the album it starts, like its already started and gets turned up gradually. You'll know what I mean if you have the album, and if you dont then you wont know what Im on about. Then th tune stops and the verse starts - it builds up to the chrorus - 'Blame It on the Black Star...Blame It on a falling sky...blame it on the satellite, brings me down'...

My top five on the album would be:

If you like Radiohead then you should have the album! But its a great record - up their with Nevermind by Nirvana in best of all time.

If you've just heard Radiohead after missing them when THe Bends and OK Computer came out, and you've only heard the Kid A and Amnesiac stuff, and dont really like it - dont be put off, you'd think this was a different band.
