Advantages: classic tracks, great variety, great value
Disadvantages: can't think of any!
I first saw this advertised on television a few months back. It showed some samples, and I thought excellent! It was just what I'd been looking for. I went out and bought it on the weekend, for £15 I believe, I thought this was excellent value, as it contains 41 tracks! Thats about 37p per track ;) I first put it in the CD player and I was really impressed. It contains all the classic Air Guitar tunes, from Queen and Deep Purple, to the more modern bands like Metallica and Weezer. It combines all the tracks beautifully, from the quite relaxed such as Summertime Blues by Eddie Cochran, to quite hard rock, such as For Whom the Bell Tolls by Metallica, while also containing a large number of brilliant tracks which fit somewhere in the middle. The album is original in that I don't think there has been another Air Guitar compilation released, but seeing as it is various already released songs, it is only original if the tracks make it original. In my opinion, they succeed effortlessly in doing this. The same for lyrics, it is dependent on the individual track, but I must say that almost all of them are brilliant tracks and well worth listening to. The album boasts several classics and famous names, like Jimi Hendrix, Blur, Queen, Status Quo, and even when the band is slightly lesser known, the quality of the tracks still remain excellent. The brilliant atmosphere that the album creates does not deteriorate throughout, and you don't feel the need to only listen to one of the CDs, as is the case with so many compilations these days, when the B-Side is full of unknown artists who you don't particularly want to listen to! As I said, I bought this a few months ago, and it has remained one of my favourite albums since. It's a really good laugh to listen to, and I never tire of hearing those classics! This one will remian near the top of my CD rack for several years! The inlay is wonderful and enjoyable to lo
ok at too! It has "Your very own free air guitar", and a picture, outlining the positions of all features of a guitar, but without there actually being a guitar! It also shows you air guitar "holds" like Headbang, Kneebreaker, and Chicken Walk! It also contains an amusing article as to the advantages of Air Guitar over real guitar. This one's absolutely superb in my opinion, and an album that no rock music lover should be without!
