THE best Damn album known to Avril!!! HISTORY *********************** Avril Started off singing in choirs and stuff!!! In 1998 she won a competition to sing along Shania Twain on her tour!!! She was then picked up by a manager called Cliff Fabri, who let her sing country in certain bookstores During a performance in a theatre she was spotted by a folk singer called Steve Medd who invited her to sing along side him. She sang Touch the sky with him on his new album, called Quinte Spirit!!! At the age of 16 she was signed up by Ken Krongard, who is represented by Arista Records!!! She then recorded her first album!!! Which was ... Read the complete review

Avril Lavigne launched onto the music scene back in 2002 with her début album 'Let Go', an album which successfully got the ball rolling in terms of her career and gained her great notoriety with tracks such as 'Sk8er Boi' and 'Complicated' performing extremely well commercially as single releases. Clearly armed with a degree in text speak and a passion for producing poor pop music; Avril Lavigne has now been around for six years and still she shows no signs of disappearing. 'The Best Damn Thing' is Avril Lavigne's third studio release and has sold over 5.2 million copies worldwide. Having sold so many copies around the world, it is clear that there are a lot of people ... Read the complete review

I absolutely loved Avril Lavigne’s first album but then was slightly disappointed with her second release and so when I heard the third album was coming out I had rather mixed feelings. After hearing her first single from it, the rather infectious sounding “Girlfriend” track I decided that it might just be worth a listen after all. Avril Lavigne shot onto the music scene back in 2001 with the release of her first album “Let Go” which went straight in at number one in the UK charts making her the youngest female soloist to ever have a number one album in the UK. Her second album was released in 2004 and seemed to feature a more mature sound that was somewhat more relaxed ... Read the complete review

I used to really like Avril Lavigne - when she released her debut album Let Go back in 2002 I was seventeen, about the same age as her - and probably a bit older than most of her fans to be honest! However I really liked her guitar-driven style of pop music, and when she released her second album Under My Skin I thought that was even better: more mature, thoughtful and well-crafted. Fast forward to 2008 and Avril bounces back, this time with bright blonde hair and surrounded by a lot more pink... I wasn't sure at first whether to get this album, but eventually I did, and this is my verdict. On a first listen it sounds much more like the punk-pop ... Read the complete review

As Avril states on her debut album Let Go she 'comes from a small town, Naponee' which is in Ontario in Canada. This album was released in 2002 at just 17 years of age. I for one was extremely impressed. Some of the lyrics were very simple and yet others were very mature for a 17 year old. I got into Avril as she reminded me slightly of Alanis Morrisette in her music and I saw a very talented future ahead as she matured. Avril followed up this album with Under My Skin, which was almost but not quite as good as her first. The Best Damn Thing is Avrils 3rd album and I was really looking forward to hearing it. But on the first listen I was extremely ... Read the complete review
