I'm a big fan of Janet. This ranks as my second-favorite J Janet Jackson album, and probably #5 on my all-time favorite albums list. (as soon as I decide what the first four will be.) Actually, after accidentally scratching my mom's copy, I inherited it. I can't find it now, but I'll buy another copy I suppose. But all the tracks are vivid, fresh in my mind, and they stay in my mind not because they're horrid, but because they're catchy- all of them. Not as many tracks as 1993's janet, but half the tracks on it were interludes, so there's the excuse. Throughout the album, you hear different styles- ballads, R&B, rock, and... I dunno ...

Velvet rope is an excellent album. I have loved J Janet Jackson from a young age. When this album came out I bought it as I Get Lonely was one of my favourite songs at the time. I was more than impressed when I first listened to the album. Most albums have what I call filler songs. In other words songs that are poor in comparison to the released singles. This is NOT the case with Velvet Rope. They are all quality. In fact, after buying the album and loving it so much I went to see her in concert. Now that was something else.
