Let me start by coming clean. I’ve never really been a fan of S Sting or the Police. When they were at their peak, I could take or leave them – I preferred the Boomtown Rats (their first three albums, anyway) and the ill-fated After The Fire. Some of his solo stuff I’ve found too arty or plain dull. After a period of hardly bothering to listen to him, I came across this new CD and decided that, yes, either I’m now ready for his music, or else I’ve been maligning him.
