The Rocky Horror Picture Show - Soundtrack
by Jarisleif - written on 17/12/11 (Very useful, 11 readings)
Rating:
"The Rocky Horror Picture Show" is a soundtrack to the 1975 film of the same name, released on Ode Records and produced by Richard Hartley, with performances from Meat Loaf, Richard O'Brien, Tim Curry, Barry Bostwick, Susan Sarandon, Jonathan Adams and Charles Gray. "Science Fiction / Double Feature" is the song from the opening credits of the film. References to old black and white era science fiction films and stars is worked into the lyrics, including "The Invisible Man", "King Kong", "It Came From Outer Space" and more. Like the other songs on the soundtrack, there are many moments for audience interaction, if the listener is ...

Next up is "Falconstone" by "The Hidden Hand", the song typifies the ...

I recall being in a park one sunny day in 1969 when I was just five and hearing "Sugar Sugar" by the Archies playing. It goes without saying I loved it and even today when I hear the song I am transported back to an altogether more innocent time in my life. "Sugar Sugar" is perhaps the most famous song from the bubblegum pop genre, a genre much derided at the time, probably because it was aimed fairly and squarely at children. Few of the acts who had hits with bubblegum pop songs had hit albums although there are always exceptions to the rule. The genre ...
