'The Better Life' is the first official album released by 3 Doors Down an American alternative rock group first formed in Escatawpa, Mississippi in1994 by lead singer Brad Arnold. The Better Life was released on February 8, 2000. It went Platinum in its first week out. It has become 6 times Platinum since. The lyrics for the album are written by Arnold and the music is written by Todd Harrell, Chris Henderson, and Matt Roberts, all of whom are musicians in 3 Doors Down. hello folks, this album is truly amazing. if you are a metal / nu metal fan and you are tired of listening to hyped up and over the top energetic music then try this, it is a calmer and more melodic version of nu metal with 11 songs of pure genius when it comes to the excellent and relaxing guitar riffs the band can put together. my favourite song of the album is #5 : if i could be like that (this song is also featured on the american pie 2 soundtrack). i would recommend this album to any metal fan and even non metal fan because it is designed for more than one genre. please rate this review and leave comments ... ... Catchy, funny, and sensitive 
No comedy bonus track purple yellow Flashes of genius, particularly the 'Dookie' tracks. 'Nice Guys Finish Last' sucks.
