Advantages: Catchy, well - produced, fab from start to finish

Disadvantages: Doesn't receive enough airplay

The years have been good to these guys. They've grown into themselves and their talent as artists. No longer are they just about the marketing machine, but their vocal abilities and strong track choices.
With production on a number of tracks by RedOne (Lady Gaga, NeYo, Colby O'Donis) and Timberland, as well as the guys themselves, they have nurtured the sound and done it right, putting the music first above all else.

Teaming up with hot artists like NeYo, Lady Gaga, Akon & The Pussycat Dolls, Donnie, Danny, Joe, Jon & Jordan have moved away from solely 'boy band' and have achieved a respectable place in the 2008/2009 world.
With catchy and relateable tracks like Summertime, Single (with NeYo), Big Girl Now (with Lady GaGa), Twisted and Dirty Dancing, as well as the more mellow sounds of 2 In The Morning and Click Click Click, The Block is an easy choice to keep in the stereo without skipping through tracks (an achievement in itself - most albums I own I'll skip through at least half of it).

If you remember NKOTB of old, and have preconceived notions of what this album will sound like, listen to it with an open mind and then form an opinion - I have played this to many who have scorned and each one has conceded it's a great album.
