Shhh - Chumbawamba

Premium Review Shhh - don't tell anyone but I like this one (707 words)

Rating:

“Sshh” is the only Chumbawamba album I own. I'm not sure why, but I never got around to listening to any of the others. Strange really, because I often play this one. Released in 1992, well before the Leeds-based agitpop band’s major hit “Tubthumping”, this album is the remnants of an aborted album called Jesus H. Christ, which was ultimately not released because of problems over the use of samples. Once you know this, it helps you to make sense of a lot of the songs, and the lyrics especially. Range of subject matter and musical styles. Too clean sounding for some.

That voice Definitely not music to drive to!

We get to see an amazing singer try something out of the ordinary . Unfortunately the album never took off as well as hoped so no more Chris .

great punk songs none

Live, Fun, Great Listening (advice - play LOUD) Doesn't feature Polcie classics and not one to relax to or for when you have a headache.

Title track is excellent, three-piece is incredibly tight. Second half becomes repetitive.
