**Introduction** I first came across Monica over ten years ago when she was on the soundtrack to Space Jam which I thought was a rather solid soundtrack. She is most famous for her duet with Brandy called Boy Is Mine which helped launched the careers of both. Although Monica released her debut album "Miss Thang" in 1995 she did not become a big star until the release of this album in 1998. I hadn't heard of Monica until one day, while flipping through the channels, I saw her sitting on a fluffy bed in a blue room, reading a book the size of a computer desk, plotting evil schemes against Brandy (whom I also hadn't heard of until I saw the video), whom sat in a nearby pink room plotting mayhem against Monica. This was the video for their 1998 hit, The Boy Is Mine. I loved Brandy's throaty vocals, but Monica's silky voice was also very impressive.
