Advantages: Few Great tracks

Disadvantages: A couple of slow ones

Glasgow Band Travis are back with their latest album "The Boy with no Name" , After a couple of musically quiet years , Fran and the boys have returned to take back their place of Scottish Pop-Rockers at the top of the album chart.

I've always had a soft spot for Travis, being a scottish lad myself I gave them a chance instantly and their album "The man who" was truly wonderful. So how good is the new one?

Well i'd say it's not quite to the standard of the aforementioned album, it's still very good

For me the standout tracks are

'Closer' , this was the first single and I heard it on the radio around the time of the albums release, really good song.

'Eyes Wide Open' - This is a quite raw sounding song with some good emoition shown and has a good melody too.

'My Eyes' , Back to their soft-rock best here with some great harmonies and generally a very sweet tune.

Overall this album is very good, not in the league of their earlier stuff but credit to them as they've tried something different here and seem to be rediscovering themselves and their love of music. A really good effort and i'll look forward to their next album.

Summary: This is a return to form for the Soft Rock specialists

wow, Travis used to be really good but the more I read about them the less appealing they sound!
