Advantages: Inspiration, Britpop still alive

Disadvantages: the media reaction and effort to keep 21st Century Britpop alive

Still as inspiring as the day Travis were brought to mass media attention in Britain, with a little help from Melody Maker & NME. The Boy With No Name is pure relief to the modern man that a band will overcome the fight between critiques, who unless your Weller, then you must mix it up, make yourselves into a new modem band playing with 'the mixing and sampling of genres topped with Indie Jelly tots to keep it sweet. This is no doubt pressure thanks to their managements 24 months contract tariff and a makeover by the latest professional stylists.
Closer took Travis to their early days, which saw the birth of Why Does It Always Rain On Me, a pure representation of Britpop Indie which NME once chewed on, only to spit out more recently.

NME can now be found counting the calories consumed by Beth Ditto, also in search of a cheaper tobacco supplier for Winehouse and clan. No real representation of Britain.

We're left asking, where did Travis go? After all, this album came somewhat 4 years later than their last album Twelve Memories. My guess is they saw the likes of Ditto coming and did not want to get sat on.

Good lads.

Your Britpop and it is what you do best, this will never change.

Summary: love this album
