The Chillout Session from ministry of sound is basically what it says on the box, a laid back mix of blissful beats and chilled out house. Now, don’t get me wrong, you may like this album, but it was far to slow for me. The reason I bought it was because I knew a few of the songs that were on it. I was looking for Euphoric Breakdown, which is another kind of chilled out mix compilation album but the shop I was in didn’t have it, so I opted for this instead. For me, the music played on the CD is just too slow, maybe a bit too chilled and I just couldn’t get to grips with liking it. There are a few tracks on the CD such as ‘Rob D – ... There's an odd mix, really, on this double-CD. From Badly Drawn boy to LeftField the choices are quite eclectic, and not what you'd necessarily expect from a MoS title. The arrangement is well thought-out though so the mix is rarely jarring -- an important consideration for an album that's supposed to relax you. Fave tracks like Rob D's 'Clubbed to Death', chicane's 'No Ordinary Morning' and Lemonjelly's 'In the Bath' meant that to my ears, CD1 was easier to get to grips with. This CD album is one of my favourites out this year! The second one is even better, I think you have to listen to it a few times to really appreciate it Outstanding tracks on the first CD include '6 Underground' by the Sneaker Pimps, 'Clubbed to death' by Rob D (which is pumping!), 'Is It Too Late?' by World Party and 'Shoot You Down' by the Stone Roses. It's not the typical Ministry Of Sound compilation at all. The second CD is definately my favourite. It kicks off with Jakatta and 'American Dream'. My fave tune has to be 'King Of My Castle' by Wamdue Project. This is the perfect CD to listen to post ... Read the complete review
