Advantages: Does its job -- it's chilled

Disadvantages: Some choices are a bit...odd

There's an odd mix, really, on this double-CD. From Badly Drawn boy to LeftField the choices are quite eclectic, and not what you'd necessarily expect from a MoS title. The arrangement is well thought-out though so the mix is rarely jarring -- an important consideration for an album that's supposed to relax you.

Fave tracks like Rob D's 'Clubbed to Death', chicane's 'No Ordinary Morning' and Lemonjelly's 'In the Bath' meant that to my ears, CD1 was easier to get to grips with. But with a couple of listens the second disc's less familiar material grew on me too, although while still 'chilled' it's a little more uptempo than the first. Standout tracks, for me, were jakatta's 'American Dream', 'Falling' by Sumsonic and Bedrock's 'Beautiful Strange' -- more 'trance' and less 'club'.

The whole is, in the main, very effective, if you're looking for a backing track to a lazy evening or slow wake-up morning after.
