... the least essential Amon Amarth album of their earlier years, before everything post-'Versus the World' took the band to new disappointing extremes. The great riffs from Soderberg and Mikkonen are still the driving force, but there are less stand-out riffs here than on previous classics, the exceptions being in the central section of the album with 'The Sound of Eight Hooves' and 'As Long as the Raven Flies,' the latter of which foreshadows the style shift of their following album, and in particular 'Risen From the ...more

One of the best albums from possibly the most influential band of all time Some of it sounds dated

Interesting covers and a more prog/folk side shining through. Acoustic version was already on the album, and the rest isn't brilliant.

Heavy, Great to listen to None!

Lots of good songs from four albums, displaying the band's variety and skill. Nothing from 'Privilege of Evil,' and some of the choices are a bit strange.

Diverse, half acoustic, half electric A bit dated

Good enough atmospheric rock. The dullest Amorphis album so far.
