This is the album from the cult film T The Blues Brothers which starred John Belushi and Dan Ackroyd as Jake and Elwood Blues and while most of the songs are more about rhythm rather than blues tracks mixed in with a bit of gospel it is a great album that brings back some excellent memories of a film I have watched on a number of occasions. The tracks are not played in the order that they appear in the film however that does not detract from the overall quality and the fact that some great stars of the music scene appear on the album. Founded and fronted in 1978 by comedic duo Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi, T The Blues Brothers started out as a light-hearted musical sketch on the popular American TV show Saturday Night Live . There was a slight downside to this as it spawned countless half-baked two man tribute acts where you d see a short dumpy bloke and ...

on the move, which is where I prefer to have music playing and so I had to find myself a copy of the "Blues Brothers 2000 OST". Considering where t The Blues Brothers were supposedly from, the opening number is quite appropriate. "Born in Chicago" is a 1960s style blues number with a rock n roll undertone and reminds me of a slowed down version of a Chuck Berry song, although with the emphasis more on the blues end of the spectrum than the more rock n roll sound that Berry had. But as I ve long been a Chuck Berry fan, even a slight comparison is good for me. The performer of the next track, "The Blues Don t Bother Me" is perhaps the ...
