I must say back in 2009 when I first heard Lady Gaga's music, I thought she was good but one of them artists that we see top the charts once and never hear from again. Thankfully, that wasnt the case. My personal opinions on the album are nothing but good and I would recommend any dance music fan to invest in a Lady Gaga album.
The first track 'Bad Romance' is one of them songs where when you listen to it for the first time its hard to base an actual opinion and then you listen to it more and then it starts to get stuck in your head and the more you listen to it the more you begin to love it. It has everything every pop record needs; great vocals, catchy lyrics and an amazing dance beat.
'Alejandro' the second track is just as catchy as the first track. She uses brilliant self written lyrics which conpliment her vocal range very well and that shows very well in this song. It's also the type of song you just wouldnt expect Lady Gaga to be singing as by that far we only heard her music from 'The Fame'.
The third track 'Monster' is one of the best songs from The EP, she makes a reference to her hit single 'Just Dance', providea another amazing lyrical delivery as well as another brilliant vocal performance.
The fourth and midway track, 'Speechless' is a powerful ballad which is influenced by Queen. The song is very emotional and really draws the listener in to listen to the song.
'Dance In The Dark' the fifth track and a dance/pop song, it's one of the songs from the EP that gets a lot of attention due to the fact that with the 8 new songs in the EP it is one of the only songs that is similar to the songs from her debut effort 'The Fame'.
The sixth track 'Telephone' features Beyonce and is also one of the best songs from the EP. The beat is flawless, both vocals are flawless, it is just one of them songs that is perfect for a nightclub and that certainly happened.
'So Happy I Could Die' is the seventh track and is also an amazing dance song, there are not many songs which can make you want to dance until your feet bleed yet stop and listen to the lyrics too which I think is an amazing quality about this song.
Last and least is eighth track 'Teeth', I think it's a very dark song, for me the beat can get annoying and the lyrics are repetative for Lady Gaga. I can see why some people would like it, but I dont.
I would recommend any dance music fan regardless of whether or not they are a Lady Gaga fan or not to buy this album, it also contains a disc 2 which has a copy of her debut album 'The Fame' too. One bad word is that I wish they were just 7 tracks on this EP because then it would be just perfect in my opinion.
Summary: Great album for ANY dance music fan.
