Advantages: some amazing songs

Disadvantages: their guitarist left, but you ccant really notice

The grey race was the ninth full studio album release from the band bad religion. The band had been getting very successful before releasing this album, and their earlier release stranger than fiction was some of their best work to date.
This album was the first not recorded with the original guitarist Brett Gurewitz and I think it was a real shame that he left. The album still worked fairly well though and although not being as successful as the album before it, I don't think this was down to the departure of Brett Gurewitz and more down to some of the songs not being as good for other reasons instead.

The grey race kicks the album off in the usual bad religion style, a really fast punk song at the start to give you an idea to what the albums going to be like. The lyrics are very good to this song, and the guitar melodies going on over some of the singing is great too.

Punk rock song, is one of my favourite bad religion songs of all time, not only for the lyrics, but the guitar is just fantastic in this, there's kind of a guitar solo running through one of the versus but it sounds great as its not too empowering.

Drunk sincerity is another really good song off this album, I just love how this one is sung, he reaches many notes and it sounds really nice. Its quite slow at times, but still really fast and it sounds a bit different to what Iv heard them do before and that's great for a bad religion song as a lot of them do sound the same.

1. The Gray Race
2. Them and Us
3. A Walk
4. Parallel
5. Punk Rock Song
6. Empty Causes
7. Nobody Listens
8. Pity the Dead
9. Spirit Shine
10. The Streets of America
11. Ten in 2010
12. Victory
13. Drunk Sincerity
14. Come Join Us
15. Cease

Some of the songs on this album just fail to stand out, however that's the case with any album, and some of the songs on this one sound a bit similar however there's some that couldn't sound more different too, it has some of the bands best songs on here and its just a really good album.

Summary: just another great punk album
