would like to introduce you to one of my favourite bands. Unless you are really into indier music or were a John Peel listener I doubt you would have heard of the Delgados, (the only band ever to name themselves after a Tour De France Competitor), as they have never had a top 40 single or album. I thought I would review their third album, the Mercury Prize nominated Great Eastern, because it truly is a masterpiece. Who are the Delgados. What the hell are they putting in the whisky in Scotland at the moment? To Belle & Sebastian, Travis, Teenage Fanclub, Mogwai, Idlewild and Primal Scream you can now add the Delgados to the ever growing list of Scottish bands that are currently making very important music. The Great Eastern follows on from the Delgados promising debut 'Peleton' that housed the wonderful 'Everything Under the Water'. It is a staggering effort that will melt the hearts of all listeners.
