I first discovered Prince in my teens, when I bought this triple album on impulse because it was on sale in HMV. It was the first CD I ever bought, and is still my absolute favourite. I was obsessed with ‘his purpleness’ for quite a few years. I loved the fact that he was so different to all the washed out, teenybopper heartthrobs around at the time. I found him dark, sexy and exciting, and his music rocked my world. These days I’m a little less obsessive about the man and his music, but I would still urge anyone who has never really listened to his music to buy this album.
