Donna Summer is often billed as the first lady of disco. A fair statement I guess, considering her contribution to the disco scene in the seventies and eighties. It is a shame she does not seem to have hits these days, as he voice is testament to a great talent. This album collects some of her bigger hits and there are twenty songs on the CD. 'Love To Love You Baby' is the opener, a sweet and slinky affair in which Summer delivers a precious and controlled vocal with just the right burst of soul. No one has cropped up more in the charts in the last 30 years than Donna Summer. For me she is the undisputed Queen of Disco, having had the last 30 years all to herself in defining hits and songs that people love or loathe but importantly seldom forget. This is one long review! If you don't like disco, then get off the floor now. The inlay cover is actually sparse but has an additionally written section by an editor of a tour the singer did as well as quotes for several songs, some of the info of which has been contained in this review.
