The more structural problem lies in the often awkward blending of the older and newer black metal styles, which even goes as far as to require two vocalists to handle the delivery of each, as Apollyon provides the g...more

Rare, early releases now more readily available. There was probably a reason they ceased production in the first place.

The Fantastic 80's Vol.2
Great tunes to remember Not all great songs, and not a lot of info on the album from the sleeve

So This Is Great Britain - Holloways
A decent debut of catchy tracks Won't appeal to many who don't appreciate Indie music

Shakedown - Freemasons
Lengthy track listing with no fillers, good tunes Still lacks variety

Scouting For Girls - Scouting For Girls
A real fun album None really

Riders Of The Plague - Absence
Making melodic death metal interesting again. Still owes its sound entirely to earlier Swedish bands.

Obscuritatem Advoco Amplectere Me - Abruptum
You may get an unreasonable sense of the connoisseur from owning something so obscure. The album.

Metal Heart - Accept
Accessible pop-tinged metal that still sounds great, with a wide diversity of styles. Some inevitably terrible, awful songs.

Horrorhammer - Abscess
Fairly enjoyable mix of death metal and hardcore punk. Hugely inconsistent and lacking in substance.

Capital Gold Eighties Legends
Some great tracks Some confusing choices

Abydos - Abydos
A great modern metal opera combining the best elements of the style and few of the weaknesses. The concept and lyrics themselves are far from riveting.
