You know, sometimes it’s just not enough that you are among the top tier of A-list Hollywood composers and one of the top earners in the field; when an impossible director or producer comes along, it basically means squat. This is what happened to James Horner during the production of Terrence Malick’s rather loose Pocahontas re-telling, The New World. Malick of course is well known for not really bothering that much with plot, rather reveling in showing his magnificent nature setpieces and lush vistas.
