Rated Next - Next

Premium Review Rated: NeXXXt (1519 words)

Rating:

"Rated Next" was the 1997 debut from the R&B trio Next . Hailing from Minneapolis, Minnesota, Tweety, T-Low and R.L. broke through with the single, "Too Close", which in the UK was more famously covered by the Pop band, Blue. On this album, you have them do the most explicit R&B you are likely to hear, to get you right into the feel of what they are singing about. 1. "Intro" 2. "Too Close" I expect that you will be familiar with the Blue version, if you don t remember the original, but one this one you actually feel exactly what they are going through, and in this one, unlike the Blue version has them go at it with ...

Premium Review After this what next (502 words)
by Lorriee - written on 04/09/01 (Very useful, 156 readings)
Rating:

on their second album entitled Welcome II Nextasy. I seem to buy most of my R&B albums in reverse order so I have just purchased the first album Rated Next which has the track Too Close. Next consists of three male men RL (very attractive see inside sleeve), Tweety and T-Low. I would class them on the same par as Ideal, 112, Jagged Edge, Jodeci and even Dru Hill as they all have the same mannerisms of American all male groups. i.e. sing about love and women with hardly any clothes on while showing of extremely toned bodies. The album contains 15 songs altogether, including the intro and 1 interlude. (There are actually 16 songs but the last one doesn’t ...

Premium Review Who Knew Minnesnowta Had Something To Say? (1273 words)

Rating:

In 2000 the R&B trio Next released "Welcome II Nextasy", their second album, and it saw them return with more of the shockingly explicit work which they came with on their 1997 debut. Minnesota s T-Low, Tweety and R.L. showed how things could be taken in order to bring more of the Hip Hop-influenced work into R&B through this, in addition to the album thy brought out the year after this. 1. "Welcome II Nextasy" (Intro) 2. "What U Want" Getting straight into the freaky work on the release, you have a nice little one from them which has them working with Philadelphia s Beanie Sigel, who provides a short rap to just fit in with the ...

good choices dated

The Best Of 80s Remixed
decent choices pricey

Almighty: The Definitive Collection, Vol. 6
hmm couple of good ones generally poor

Toy Boy - Sinitta
some ok ones doddgy remakes

The Resistance - Muse
A lot of excellent songs, lots of variation between tracks, Exogenesis Symphony is outstanding. A couple of songs feel like filler material, and Matt Bellamy's voice can get a little annoying.
