Rating:

This Italian band is certainly innovative in its approach to metal, but the ambition isn't entirely supported by the quality of the finished product. Most grating for me are the distinct traces of metalcore evident in the alternation between screamed and sung vocals, handled by two different singers which just smacks of a lack of ability, and the unnecessary anger spoils songs such as 'The Picture' that would otherwise be fairly enjoyable in a more mellow manner. Hugely atmospheric and moving A little samey.

More great folk metal. Sounds a lot like other bands.

Varied and distinctive melodic death metal. Keyboards get a little irritating, and guitar riffs are mostly just for the sake of rhythm.

Great atmosphere, and prog that doesn't show off (apart from the vocals). Gets a little samey.

a death metal classic, great guitar tone, memorable songs Lack of oficial lyrics in most of the songs

Tangled Up - Girls Aloud
a few phenomenal songs, cheap a few weaker tracks

Star Trek: Nemesis - Jerry Goldsmith - Soundtrack
Darkly rich music from beginning to end Only problem is the score has very little to say

Rape Of The Bastard Nazerene - Akercocke
Some nice, raw, devilish metal from posh Londoners. Interludes are far too frequent, far too tedious and far too terrible.

Our Love To Admire - Interpol
Good mixed tempos and rifts run out of idea towards and of album

Open Fire - Alabama Thunderpussy
Good incorporation of classic metal style, with great guitars and improved vocals. Too content to be nothing new.

Kalmanto - Ajattara
Lyrics in Finnish, for natives who hate English. Dull and ineffective.

Bitchin' - Donnas
80s influenced and anthemic, girls are doing what they want, great for a sing a long few weak links, wouldn't have minded maintaining the escapism in regards to feelings, etc.
