      Both it would seem

The Peanut Butter Conspiracy is Spreading is the debut album by The Peanut Butter Conspiracy and whilst it may not be quite as good as the band's 2nd album, it's a great piece of 60s psychedelic rock that's worth a listen. This album is a sort of compilation containing both albums which means you'll have all the good work created by these musicians.

The Californian band's music is a sort of hybrid between more popular contemporary hippy bands like Jefferson Airplane, Mamas and Papas

The album starts off with "It's a Happening Thing" which has a rather jolly feel to it, repetitive but catchy it's the kind of dreamy tune you'll probably find yourself mumbling for the rest of the day, dreamy but not dreary because it is in fact upbeat which sets a precedent for the rest of the album.
A lot of songs of the time tend to be a bit depressive but you'll find that this is quite positive stuff, lyrically not too dissimilar from garage bands that preceded it.

Singer Sandi Robinson's voice makes the album stand out - not only is she the only member of the band without a beard but she's also one of the most underrated female singers of the 60s along with Candy Givens of Zephyr.

Awesome melodies, a busy drummer and decent rather inspiring lyrics are strong points of this compilation album, "Dark on You Now" is one of my favourite tracks. The work is quite varied "I'm a fool" is a pretty souly track while "Then Came Love" is a very dreamy poppy track that sounds a little older than it is. There's lots to be discovered here, check it out.
