Introduction
The R.E.D album is the fourth studio album by Jayceon Terrell Taylor , better known as west coast rapper ,The Game. The album has been a long time in coming and has taken three years in all to produce and release. There were many delays but it finally came out last month (August 2011). There are a total of 21 tracks on the album which is quite a lot for a single album. There are also a number of key features from the likes of Dr Dre, Snoop Dogg, Lil Wayne, Chris Brown, Drake and Nelly Furtado amongst some others. (17 features in total)
In this review I will give a view on some of the key tracks and features on the album and then give an opinion on the album as a whole

Dr Dre introduces the album and The Game and he also provides a background to the Game's life so far with four short snippets on the album in total. The first top track is 'The City' which features Kendrick Lamar. This is a good track to start off the album and it also outlines his struggles in choosing which record label to be signed to and release his album from. He got himself into trouble with G Unit and was left as a bit of an outcast after a falling out in 2005. ("torn between Aftermath, Geffen, Interscope." He also namedrops other top rappers including 2Pac, Nas , Jay Z and Dre. The next track is Drug test which features heavyweights Dre and Snoop. This is a track appealing to the mainstream audience. It is followed by two more tracks which feature Lil Wayne. Martians vs Goblins and Red nation are both pretty decent tracks . Red Nation was the first single from the album and appeals to the radio audience. After this comes 'Good girls go bad' with some pearls from Drake," I love you're a** like Milhouse loved Lisa,I love you're a** like the Ninja Turtles love pizza ." There are a lot of other pretty average and below tracks in between from track 10 to the end. The first half of the album bar a couple of tracks is better than the second half. Pot of Gold featuring Chris Brown is another good track appealing to the radio audience and this track is one of the singles and has its own video. Mama Knows is another decent track also where he shows his lyrical talent with a feature from Nelly Furtado.
Overall
This album in my opinion is pretty good but could have been a lot better. There are way too many features for an album for starters. There are 21 tracks and the majority have features on them. Some are good but others are not. There probably should have been more tracks where The Game was on his own. Another point is that there are too many tracks on the album in total (21). Alot of albums have far less than this and it is difficult to maintain a high standard with this many tracks. There are enough decent tracks though to give this album 3/5 stars and maybe 3.5 but I would not give it more than this.
Summary: good but could have been better
