Advantages: It's good
Disadvantages: The fact that the CD is not free., It's not edible.
This is a top soundtrack to a top film. Not only does the music flow excellently with the film, but it creates excellent listening on it's own. The main militaristic "action" tunes are "Hummel gets the rockets" and "In the Tunnels". The others are not so good, as Hans Zimmer's skills lie in action and sadness, nothing else. The tracklisting is as follows: 01. Hummel gets the Rockets (6:25) 02. Rock House Jail (10:12) 03. Jade (2:01) 04. In the Tunnels (8:40) 05. Madison's Walk- First Launch (9:34) 06. Rocket Away (14:25) 07. Fort Walton- Kansas (1:37) 08. The Chase (7:35) Jade, Fort Whalton and The Chase are little more mellowed out, and as such, pretty dire. Hummels gets the Rockets does sound so much better in the film, espescially with the on-screen excellent acting from Ed Harris. That and "In the Tunnels" do not die fast. I've had this CD for about 6 months, and still listen to it every now and then. Definitely worth the money, you will not be dissapointed. Alternatively, they are all up for download on audiogalaxy. If you search under "jerry bruckheimer introduction" on audiogalaxy you can also get a 1:30 long section from the intro of the film, which as I say sounds so much better.

- 08/03/02 I agree Ophelia, but what more can you say about a classical CD?
I don't want to bore people to death talking about the instruments, and there's little else to say.
I see you're point, have you any suggestions on improving it? |
