The second release from Ava Inferi sees Rune Eriksen's guitars take a significant back seat and offer the limelight to the excellent gothic singing talent of Carmen Susana Simões. Still possessing a few of the black metal touches from Eriken's time in Mayhem (primarily in the scratching riffs of 'The Abandoned' and 'The Dual Keys'), this is almost exclusively gothic doom that strikes a perfect balance between melody and a heavier, darker side.
