Advantages: Strong at times

Disadvantages: Inconsistent

The Houston, Texas rapper Chamillionaire released his solo debut in 2005 with "The Sound of Revenge". It had the rapper breakthrough with the monster single "Ridin'", which kick-started his career, getting it underway in a big way with his original concept and infectious hook (which comes through elsewhere here.

1. "The Sound of Revenge" (Intro)

2. "In The Trunk"

To get things going properly, you have this track having Cham' going at it hard as he does one which is specifically made for the trunks bumper kind of stuff with heavy bass driving the tune as the rapper does his thing. With this he chooses to use the beats to flow about things to simply boost him self with various comparisons

**Three Stars**

3. "Turn It Up"

Featuring as part of the soundtrack to Madden 2006, this one has him working with more big talent out of H-Town as you get him and Lil' Flip doing their thing together. I have to say that I saw it was one of the best you get here, and this must be down to Scott Storch's role in making the eats for it as they do a club one.

**Four Stars**

4. "Ridin'"

This was the tune which catapulted the artist into success, but I rally can't understand how it happened. The artist come completely out of nowhere at the time with a collaboration with Bone Thugs' Krayzie Bone and performs what is an alright rap, but to be honest, I didn't see it as anything special at all, and so I wasn't really all that into it.

**Three Stars**

5. "No Snitchin'"

As it seemed that the 2005/206 period was the peak were the hood movement of "Stop Snitchin'" came through, it was perfect timing for Chamillionaire to drop a track of this sort here, and I have to say that it stands out as something strong here as you get him with Bun B (on the first of two separate occasions on the release) as they go hard on those at the worst position in their society.

**Four Stars**

6. "Southern Takeover"

This album came at a time when the title of this track was a fact in the Hip hop world as it was completely taken over at this point with a rising of many act from the south after the East and West Coasts stepped down their games quite a bit to allow for this. It is a rough tune, and really represents the Dirty South.

**Four Stars**

7. "Radio Interruption"

This one sounds quite confused, and it means that it prevents you from connecting from the flo which he comes with here. Some of the things in it are quite fly, but then again it sounds like a jack straight off OutKast, and in particular what Big Boi did in "Ghetto Musick" with the breaks of smooth Soul breaking up his rhymes.

**Two Stars**

8. "Frontin'"

The beats on this one are really grungy and show him doing something which I really didn't expect to get out of him as he chooses to go to a state where you almost don't recognise him as he G-checks everyone out there and des one where the rhymes about how he can put his Gangsta Rap lyrics into action.

**Four Stars**

9. "Grown and Sexy"

This was one of the singles for the album, and I would have to say that it was a good choice as it stands out as one of the best offerings which you are given on this album as you finds that he lets his guard down for a while and chooses to spend his time ding a track of a new nature with it concerning girls, rather than all of the other conscious thing which come through here.

**Four Stars**

10. "Think I'm Crazy"

This one has him doing things t a low pace, and finds him doing things in a very different way, and it appears to take influence from the tune prior to it, as he does one which sounds a bit more classy, and so has him using a new approach and an original concept, and although it was original, i didn't particularly like it.

**Two Stars**

11. "Rain"

This one has him visti some darker times, and since he brought me down quite a bit with the tune prior to it, I wasn't really keen on him doing this even more as it just takes you to somewhere where you never want to be as he comes with some depressing material to show some diversity as he collaborate with H-Town Rap vet Scarface.

**Two Stars**

12. "Perfect Picture"

In this one you have him attempting to bring together the two main things which he his about as you find that he uses his vocals for a melodic hook, and has this all juxtaposed with a screwed version of this being played directly after to show what the Houston sound is about, but on the whole I didn't think that things really came together that well (even with an appearance from Bun B of UGK)

13. "Fly As The Sky"

With his younger brother Rasaq and Weezy on his side for this one, you have him doing a track which is a lot more accessible to the younger listeners, than all of the heavy-worded rap in the rest of the album, and I felt that it gave things a boost as it allows others in. It is Mannie Fresh who does the beats here, and it seems like a significant shift as a result.

**Four Stars**

14. "Peepin' Me"

This was a popular track from the album, but wasn't an official single to the thing. It has him doing something which I would have to call of-the-time with the Middle Eastern-inspired synth creating a woodwind sound as he chooses to do a smooth club one to show a gentle side of him. Is is a freaky little tune from him, but doesn't really how much of his lyrical talent.

**Three Stars**

15. "Void In My Life"

This, the final proper track on the album has him doing a track where he does all he can to let everything out and show the full potential which he has with the rhymes which he comes with. It is complex and impressive, but isn't matched to strong enough beats to take it to somewhere where you can really enjoy it to the degree which was possible with others here.

**Two Stars**

16. "Outro"

I found this to be a pretty inconsistent album from the artist with him doing a mix of both some big club tunes and some which bring it down due to experiments which don't fit in at all with his style of rapping. He does things in original ways with lots of melodic flows throw in and sung choruses, but it doesn't necessarily make it that strong, and I wouldn't say that overall it is as good as albums from other H-Town acts at this time.

Also no offence, but I would question whether you listened to each track more than a brief 30 seconds, due to the sheer lack of knowledge when explaining why you didnt like some of the tracks.
