Great nineties doom with memorable vocals.
Repetitive style.
Sons Of Northern Darkness - Immortal
Strong grasp of tempo changes, and powerful drums from Horgh.
Too slow and dull on occasion, and based largely in thrash.
The Adversary - Ihsahn
Continuation of Emperor's progressive direction for fans.
Lacks coherence and direction.
The ATL Project - ATL
A couple of nice R&B tracks
Sounds manufactured
Mind Transplant - Alphonse Mouzon
Some great musicianship
Never really lets go
Omnio - In The Woods
Well-executed and well-sequenced progressive doom metal.
Over-ambitious sections are less impressive.
On Fire - Stetsasonic
Bangers throughout
Nothing specific
Panopticon - Isis
Perfectly paced. Not one bad moment.
Vocals may prove offputting to some. Not one for happy moods.
Planet Rock - Afrika Bambaataa
Pure and original
Long tracks
Pure Holocaust - Immortal
Cold, grim, fast, classic black metal.
Very repetitive and samey.
