GN’R’s third (if you count the illusion’s as one) studio album, The Spaghetti Incident? Took its title from an incident brought up in a court case, where the band’s original drummer, Steven Adler was suing the band for loss of earnings, having been fired for failing to kick a drug habit. Featuring the third GN’R line up of W. Axl Rose, Slash, Duff ‘Rose Mckagan, Matt Sorum, Gilby Clarke and Dizzy Reed, this is an album made up entirely of cover tracks. Beginning with the beautiful ‘Since I Don’t Have You’, (originally recorded by The Skyliners), it may trick you into thinking that this will be a more gentle ... Read the complete review

The Spaghetti Incident was bound to attract criticism; not only from GnR fans who ... Read the complete review

The Spaghetti Incident was released in 1999 and was the follow up album to the Use Your Illusion releases. For anyone that doesn't know, both Use Your Illusion I and II were both released on the same day in 1991 (may have been 1992!) therefore there was quite a long wait until their next release (ahem!). Prior to the release of The Spaghetti Incident there were a lot of problems within the band and I recall a few arguments between Axl Rose and Slash both before and after the release of the album, hence the new Guns n Roses ever changing line-up! The Spaghetti Incident is a collection of songs that were not written by Guns n Roses. The album actually ... Read the complete review

A whole album of cover songs, thats what the Spaghetti Incident is. Theres no new material on here at all but instead this album is the band putting a slightly different slant on 12 songs which they like. I think we can understand why Guns n Roses released this though. They had finished recording the two Use Your Illusion albums and they had been on a world tour to support them so they had worked hard in the years prior to The Spagetti Incident. The songs on this include ones by Nazareth, Soundgarden and The Sex Pistols but Guns n Roses put their own sound to each number so the album has the usual sound to it that we've heard since 87's Appetite for ... Forget Unplugged, this is the way to release a stopgap album between tours and recording. Here Guns N' Roses pick a mere dozen tunes which helped inspire them to become musicians and, for the most part, record relatively faithful cover versions. The Johnny Thunders estate will be collecting windfall royalties from both a New York Dolls and a solo cover, Axl sounds hilarious on The Skyliners' 1958 classic Since I Don't Have You, and bassist Duff McKagan steps out with three strong lead vocals, including The Damned's New Rose. Though nine of the chosen songs are associated with punk, the production is outdoor stadium gig friendly and this will sell ... Read the complete review
