Advantages: A few great songs
Disadvantages: It isn't written by Guns and Roses
A whole album of cover songs, thats what the Spaghetti Incident is. Theres no new material on here at all but instead this album is the band putting a slightly different slant on 12 songs which they like. I think we can understand why Guns n Roses released this though. They had finished recording the two Use Your Illusion albums and they had been on a world tour to support them so they had worked hard in the years prior to The Spagetti Incident. The songs on this include ones by Nazareth, Soundgarden and The Sex Pistols but Guns n Roses put their own sound to each number so the album has the usual sound to it that we've heard since 87's Appetite for Destruction. Since I Don't Have You was written in 1958 and it shows its age, especially when Axl's piano kicks in. New Rose and Down on the Farm are two great songs the former of which is sung by Duff, the bassist. He also sings in You Can't Put Your Arms Around a Memory too. Ain't it Fun is a very load song with the usual foul language we've heard from Guns n Roses. All the others are reasonably good too. This album isn't considered a proper Guns n Roses album by many fans since it isn't written by them but it does have its highlights. If your are new comer to the band then I recommend you buy Appetite or one of the Illusion albums before this.

- 21/02/01 yeah, I do agree with you, if you want to get into GnR then this is not the album to buy. That said, it is a good album (I don't mind listening to it), however, it hasn't got the same quality of songs as the other Guns' albums. |

If you really wanna get into G'n'R, try anything but this!
I do like since I dont have you, but that's about it!
The biggest grin I got out of this album was when I left the cover on the floor and my dog licked the cover!! lol!!! |
