Advantages: several good tracks - some a grower.

Disadvantages: He Said He Loved Me is very annoying.

Reverend & The Makers are a Sheffield based band comparable by some to the Arctic Monkeys led by John McClure - to me whilst I can see the comparison the Reverends are superior.
John is certainly not backward in coming forward with his opinions throughout with lyrics on topics that are thought provoking and that many of us can relate to. What makes it stand out is his real tongue in cheek delivery.
It starts with The State of Things, The Machine and then the brilliant single Heavyweight Champion after these tracks I was unsure about the rest, but I have come to also appreciate the more down tempo songs such as Sex with the Ex, or Sundown On The Empire which give the album a more laidback feel. "He Said He Loved Me" whilst lyrically amusing has me reaching for the forward button as its just so darn irritating with its grating chav female vocals. All in all there is enough good tracks on the album to make it worth a punt.

Summary: If you like this sort of indie/dance cross give it a try.
