Richard Cheese is an artist who parodies well known tunes by playing tem in a lounge music style. This means first off that if you are not open to parodies then you simply will not this album or the legend that is Richard Cheese. If on the other hand you are partial to the odd parody then I think you will love this album. Particularly good tracks are Rock The Casbah and the masterful People = Shit, which is absolutely fantastic. Unfortunately, like most parody acts, Cheese is not brilliantly consistent, and some of the tracks on this album are less good and feel pretty arduous to listen to. Many a dark moon ago I found myself listening to a lot of parody artists, be they modern or more classical I must have went through most of the good ones. Such as the fun lyrical parody's of the likes of "Weird" Al Yankovic, The Amateur Transplants, Mark and Lard's "The Shirehorses" and even current Radio 1 DJ Chris Moyles. The "lets stick random swear words in love songs" parody of The Dan Band (famously from the movies "Starsky and Hutch" and "Old Skool"); theres also the "Lets put words to famous musical pieces" an as done notably by Tom Lehrer (who often used Gilbert and Sullivan music for his songs, theres ...
