The sweet melodies combined with the often slightly distorted sounds seems to combine relatively smoochy lyrics with a bit of Kingston grit and the result is quality reggae, which over 20 years has evolved quite a bit. In fact, the great deal of variety really ensures that you don't get bored throughout the two discs. Dancehall and Ragga artist Cocoa Tea has a smooth voice, in an almost early ska sound like Desmond Dekker, he has no problems whatsoever getting across his catchy lyrics which are ideal for relaxing to as well as dancing the night away. This album is a compilation of the artists best work, a two disc album that does its best to cover all of his classic tracks. My personal favourites are "Lost My Sonia", "Israel's King" and "Riker's Island", you'll find numerous versions of some songs that have been taken from different albums, essentially the same song but often quite different to the ears.
